Pet-friendly Uijeongbu café with chocolate Basque cheesecake: Forerest

In short

Forerest is a large, pet-friendly café in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, with a forest-villa feel and outdoor seating. My husband and I relaxed over Basque cheesecake, chocolate Basque cheesecake, a vanilla latte, and an Americano. Verdict: A lovely stop for anyone who likes moist, rich Basque cheesecake.

A forest-villa-like café in Uijeongbu

My husband and I had some errands in Uijeongbu, then stopped by Forerest (포어레스트), a large café in Uijeongbu~~!! It is known for its Basque cheesecake, so as a couple who normally loves cheesecake, we had to come and see what it was like.

There were signs pointing the way to the café, so it was easy enough to find if you just followed them!!

There was parking behind the café too, with clear directions all the way to the lot, so it seemed perfectly fine to visit by car!

Forerest as seen after parking!!! Rather than feeling like a typical café building, it felt more like a cottage?? tucked away in the woods.

Outdoor seating and a pet-friendly space

There were outdoor tables around the café too. Tables were tucked among the trees and grass, so on a nice day it would be lovely to sit outside with coffee!

There were spaces with parasols and little tent-like seating areas too, so if the weather is nice, it would be great to enjoy coffee somewhere a little more private. Forerest is pet-friendly, so the outdoor area seems especially nice when you bring your pet.

Now, let’s head inside~~ As I walked up the wooden stairs, even the entrance felt like it had preserved an old building as it was. There were also notices about using the café and bringing pets in, so do take a look if you are visiting with your pet.

This was the first space that caught my eye the moment I opened the door!! The overall wood tone gave it such a calm feeling, I guess? I was already so curious about the spaces further inside~!!

Ordering Basque cheesecake and drinks

First, let me show you the menu! This café’s signature is Basque cheesecake. They also have chocolate, black sesame, matcha, and Earl Grey Basque cheesecakes, so definitely give them a try!!!!! We ordered the Basque cheesecake, chocolate Basque cheesecake, hot vanilla latte, and iced Americano.

A spacious interior and group seating

After ordering, we looked around inside. The ceiling was high and there were big windows, so it did not feel stuffy at all, and the space was bigger than I expected. There was separate group seating too, so it seemed like a good place to come for a gathering~!!!

There was another seating area further inside too. Every space had slightly different tables and chairs, so it looked nice for settling into whichever seat you liked. You could see trees through the windows, and it felt like it would be so healing just to sit there quietly!! There was also a guitar and sound equipment, high chairs, and a separate self-service station.

Two moist, rich cheesecakes

After a little wait, our order came out!! Basque cheesecake, chocolate Basque cheesecake, hot vanilla latte, and iced Americano!!! Everything arrived on a wooden tray, and it looked so pretty ><

Basque cheesecake and coffee set

We started with the Basque cheesecake, which is said to be Forerest’s most famous item. The outside looked lightly baked, while the inside was incredibly soft, with cheese that was slightly dense and wonderfully moist. It went so well with coffee.

This was the chocolate Basque cheesecake my husband ordered. I had a bite, and the added chocolate made it sweet, dense, and seriously delicious!! I could understand why this place is known for Basque cheesecake.

For drinks, we ordered a hot vanilla latte and an iced Americano. The sweet vanilla latte paired really well with the Basque cheesecake, while the iced Americano was such a good match for the chocolate Basque cheesecake.

It was so nice to relax, drink coffee, and chat leisurely with my husband. Basque cheesecake can sometimes feel a little heavy when I have it elsewhere, but Forerest’s was so delicious that we left feeling happy. If you love Basque cheesecake, I think it is worth visiting at least once!! And since it is a pet-friendly café, Forerest would be a nice choice if you are looking for a café to visit with your pet. Next time, we are bringing our Ppomi too♥
