Head down to B1 of Shinsegae Department Store and you’ll spot Siznique. The second I saw those luscious cakes in the display case in front of the shop, I was honestly drooling,, 🤤 (I’m not Youngsu from I Am Solo.) They’re seriously loaded with seasonal fruit that looks sooo delicious and sweet. As of September, they had peach, mango, and fig selections ready.

I think mango is the kind of cake that just about everyone can enjoy, no matter their preferences. The mini size has three whole mangoes in it, so I can’t even begin to imagine how many mangoes must go into the bigger sizes... (p)

You can see fruit flesh piled without a single gap between the sponge layers and over the top. Yep,, department stores really are different.

This peach cake is so pretty just to look at,, Seriously, these aren’t those awful floury peaches—just from looking at them, you can tell they’re sweet, perfectly juicy-yet-firm peaches, ridiculously good. (If it were my birthday, I would’ve bought the peach cake.) You can also buy candles for ₩1,500 each!!

The mango cake my family shared

We decided on Siznique’s mango cake, perfect for sharing with the whole family!! The moment we opened the box, that sweet mango scent came out. Seriously, it was stuffed full of mango even inside, with just a little sponge—and even that was soft and moist, disappearing in your mouth...

My mom and dad aren’t really people who love sweets either, but they kept saying Siznique’s cake was so delicious.
