Goheung glamping with drone flying and a sand playground: Synth Pet

A glamping stay in South Jeolla, Synth Pet & Kids Glamping.

I took a one-night, two-day trip to Goheung with my kid. This time we stayed at Synth Pet & Kids Glamping!

Honestly, when I hear "glamping" I used to picture a big tent with just one bed inside. But once I actually went, it was completely different from what I imagined, haha. There's an indoor lukewarm pool, a kids' playground, a sand playground, even a drone experience, and the room itself was pretty spacious and clean — it felt more like a comfortable Goheung pension for resting with kids.

How do parking and check-in work at Synth Pet & Kids Glamping?

At Synth Pet & Kids Glamping, you park in the lot and walk into the check-in building right in front, where the staff kindly explain how everything works step by step. Parking is free, and check-in starts at 3 PM. (Even on a weekday there were a lot of cars — I guess that shows how popular it is as a kids' pension.)

The rooms aren't accessed with a separate card key but with a password, which was also convenient. (Between chasing after the kid and keeping track of keys, moms really have their hands full, haha.)

If you have a lot of luggage, you can also rent a wagon, which seems quite useful for families who bring a ton of kids' gear. (You need to return it to its original spot at checkout.)

We used Cabin A. Cabins A and B have a fence and gate on the yard side, so they looked good for visiting with a dog too. We had actually planned to bring our dog, but something came up and we couldn't this time, which was a bit of a shame.

"This is glamping?" Inside Cabin A and its private barbecue area

In front of Cabin A there's a separate, glass-enclosed private barbecue area. It's not shared with other groups — we got to use it just among ourselves, which was great,

and inside there was air conditioning, ventilation, a fridge, an induction stove, a microwave and dishware, so cooking was easy too.

And there was even a baby chair, an umbrella and slippers!!! Such thoughtful attention to detail.

Inside the room was a spacious low-frame bed that could fit four. Since we had extra people, they prepared extra bedding too, and the space didn't feel cramped at all — overall very clean, which made a great first impression.

The TV wasn't fixed in place either, so we could move it toward the barbecue area while eating, haha. When you're traveling with a kid, these little details actually matter a lot.

The bathroom had a kids' toilet seat cover, a step stool and kids' slippers, plus plenty of towels. There was a hair dryer at the vanity with several nozzle attachments too.

The wall-mounted air conditioner also handled heating, so when it got chilly in the evening, we could stay warm.

Is the indoor warm-water pool shallow enough for young kids?

The moment we unpacked, the first place we headed was the pool! Synth Pet & Kids Glamping's pool is inside the check-in building, so it was easy to get to, and there was a changing room and shower room right beside it.

What I liked especially was that there were several depth zones suited to different ages. My kid played in the shallowest part, which felt much less nerve-wracking. And best of all, it's an indoor lukewarm pool, so the water wasn't cold.

You could also rent life vests, balls and tubes, and there was even a machine for inflating them, so we rented some and really made the most of it.

After swimming we headed to the shower room, where there was another surprise! There's a spin dryer — you put the swimsuit in, spin it, and the water spins right out. Carrying around a wet kids' swimsuit is honestly such a hassle, so this was really convenient.

A hair dryer, lotion and essence were all provided, so we washed up, dried off and moved right on to the next stop!

Kids' playground, drone flying and sand play fill a whole day

After washing up, we went straight to the kids' playground. Jumping on the trampoline, sliding down the slide... where does a kid's stamina even come from?😂

Next up was the drone experience!

We rented a drone and controller and got to fly it in a dedicated area for about 5 minutes, and my kid was absolutely fascinated. There were chairs nearby too, so an adult could sit and watch alongside.

Right next to the building there's also a sand playground. Between the pool, the kids' playground, drone flying and sand play, a full day for the kid was covered without ever having to leave for sightseeing outside. There was a separate dog playground too.

Does the on-site store sell barbecue meat and baby supplies?

And here's something I personally consider really important for a family trip.

"Can you fix it if you forgot to bring something?"

Synth Glamping had this covered too. The store has ramyeon, snacks, drinks and alcohol as the basics,

plus beef and pork and sliced scallion for barbecue, and even butane gas — so even if you didn't prepare much, you can buy what you need at the store. We bought butane gas ourselves and grilled meat on the grill plate already set up.

Golden-grilled pork belly with sliced scallions on top... camping really is all about the meat, lol.

For families with young kids, there's more good news: a baby bathtub and bottle-related items can be rented from the store too, and baby supplies like diapers are also sold there.

You could also rent board games (up to 2 at a time), so we picked two and brought them back to the room.

After a fun round of board games, there was even a star-projector night light for the kid, so I feel like my kid slept extra well, haha.

Don't drive off right after check-out :)

The next day, after checkout, we didn't go straight home — we had a cup of coffee at Synth Café right next to the check-in building. The sand playground and green scenery were visible through the window, making it a nice spot to sit and sip coffee.

The adults had a coffee, the kid had a bottle of barley tea, and after one last round of board games, I really felt like we had made the most of it, haha.

Verdict: glamping with kids in Goheung was far easier than expected

What struck me most after this trip was, "This place keeps the fun of camping while removing most of the hassle." (Thinking back on it as I write this, the owner's attention to detail is honestly impressive.)

If you're like me and picture a big tent the moment you hear "glamping," Synth Pet & Kids Glamping might surprise you a little, haha. The room is comfortable, there's a barbecue area just for your group, and the kid gets to swim, run around, fly a drone and play in the sand.

Especially for families looking for glamping in South Jeolla, or pool glamping, that they can do overnight with a kid, the biggest upside was having everything to play with and every convenience in one place. We played a lot, ate a lot, and rested comfortably. Next time, I'd love to come back with the dog we couldn't bring this time. ♡
