Bupyeong, Incheon hotel with a Nintendo and projector room: Isanghan

I had a late-night executive meeting to attend in Incheon. By the time it wrapped up, it was already pretty late. Knowing this would happen, I'd booked a place in Bupyeong ahead of time haha — a stay that's good for a date and just as good for a solo rest. That place was Hotel Sang-sang Bupyeong.

Where is Isanghan Hotel Bupyeong? 432m from Bupyeong Station Exit 5

Hotel Sang-sang Bupyeong is at 13-6 Bupyeongmunhwa-ro 66beon-gil, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, South Korea, 432 meters from Exit 5 of Bupyeong Station. Since it's right along Bupyeong Culture Street, the accessibility is really good haha, so it seemed like a great spot to check into after a night out in Bupyeong. Group bookings, parking, reservations, and Wi-Fi are all available.

Hotel Sang-sang Bupyeong is tucked between alleys. The name itself is pretty unusual haha — "sang-sang" (이상한, "strange") doesn't mean anything negative here, it means "unique." It's a content-experience stay that steps away from ordinary lodging to give guests something different...⭐

There are rooms with 2 PCs, a movie room styled like a theater, glamping rooms, and even rooms with Nintendo Switch. That's exactly why I picked this place out of so many options haha. Every guy has that dream of playing Switch or PlayStation to their heart's content, right?

Walking through the charming entrance, there was a no-smoking sign posted. Smoking is banned in every space at Hotel Sang-sang Bupyeong. I really liked this part too — a bigger perk for non-smokers.

How self check-in works: adult ID verification, then your room key

Hotel Sang-sang Bupyeong is an unmanned stay, so outsiders can't enter. If you've already booked, press the check-in button on the machine; otherwise press the hourly or overnight stay button haha.

The room I booked was the Movie & Nintendo room, which only fits up to 2 people. Unfortunately, my girlfriend wasn't with me — just me, solo.

To check in, you also need adult ID verification — a resident registration card, driver's license, etc. It's not just one person; you need to verify ID for however many guests are staying. Once verified, check-in is complete...⭐ and you get the room number and key.

So you have to tag the room key you received at entry to get inside. It felt properly separated from outsiders, which I liked haha. Even delivery food gets left right at the entrance...⭐

On one side there was a price chart that varies by weekday, weekend, and room type. It felt more reasonable than expected, making it a good spot to come hang out on any given day haha.

No elevator at Isanghan Hotel Bupyeong — stairs only

The rooms start from the 1st floor, and since mine was on the 3rd floor I used the stairs on one side. Unfortunately, there's no elevator. But the stairs weren't too much of a hassle, so it was fine haha.

Out of so many rooms, the one I chose was the Nintendo & Movie Room haha. In front of room 301, it said "Movie" and "Nintendo" — it seemed like each room had cute images showing off its own character. I really liked that touch.

Right as you enter the room, there were indoor slippers to the right.

Next, the bathroom was also on the right haha — pretty spacious even for one person, and really clean, which I loved...⭐ The body wash and shampoo smelled great too.

Just past that, room 301 came into view haha — it already had a great vibe and looked so clean.

Stepping in, I saw a soft ambient light and a really pleasant, tidy room interior. It was pretty enough to be perfect for a date. The bed looked fluffy and cozy, and various little props added charm points, giving it a great overall mood.

On top of that, there was a soft sofa beside the bed, which was also great haha. There was a window and blinds on one side, so ventilation was easy too...!!

There were chargers and two remotes, controlling everything from the air conditioner to the OTT screen.

The basic setup included 2 bathrobes and an electric kettle, and opening a drawer revealed towels, a hair dryer, and a comb haha. Everything felt neat...!? Having it all tucked away inside made the room feel even more organized.

Highlight 1: the beam projector and OTT streaming

The first highlight of Hotel Sang-sang Bupyeong: a beam projector that let me comfortably watch movies on a big screen right from bed. Everything from Netflix to YouTube...!!

Highlight 2: the Nintendo Switch and Mario Kart

The second highlight of Hotel Sang-sang Bupyeong: the Nintendo Switch haha. You can play as many games as you want with it. FYI, Just Dance is available too...⭐ Perfect for couples visiting together to play side by side...!!

There was an instruction guide, so I had no trouble using the Nintendo Switch or the OTT setup haha.

First-floor self-service corner: free morning bread and water

Walking in through the 1st floor entrance of Hotel Sang-sang Bupyeong and looking left, you'll find the self-service corner and product corner. Along with basic amenities, you can pay via kiosk for various snacks and drinks to take with you. Perfect for when going out to a convenience store feels like too much hassle haha.

A water purifier and coffee machine.

Paper cups, chopsticks, and even a contact lens case and lens solution...?! Really thoughtful touches, I thought haha.

Another great thing about Hotel Sang-sang Bupyeong: morning bread with strawberry jam and butter are free haha.

There was an ice maker, a microwave, and a free bottled water fridge. All free too...!!

FYI, if you add the hotel as a KakaoTalk friend, they give you a free cup noodle or a 2-person amenity set. Definitely worth adding and grabbing that.

One night alone at Isanghan Hotel Bupyeong, and checkout

I wasn't in the best mood that day, so I ended up eating alone in Bupyeong and having a solo drink too. I got back to the room late, watched some OTT... and slept well and woke up in a good mood.

As soon as I woke up, I turned on the Nintendo. (The bed here is soft and great haha.) There were more game options than I expected. I played around solo, and ended up doing five rounds of Mario Kart. But I guess I'm getting older... it's definitely a bit less fun playing alone ㅠ

Right before checkout, I had some morning bread with strawberry jam haha, then returned the key card and checked out. Honestly, even without a companion, this was a really great place to spend a day. I usually sleep fine elsewhere too, but I slept so cozily here...lol. Nothing was uncomfortable, it was just great. I worried it might be noisy being right on Culture Street, but since it's tucked in the alley, it was actually a really pleasant stay.

If you're looking for a stay near Bupyeong Station or visiting Bupyeong, give Hotel Sang-sang Bupyeong a try. It's a great spot whether you're a couple or staying solo for a day. The service, comfort, and content all came together nicely haha.
