Pangyo terrace date restaurant with spicy anchovy pasta: Andover

This is exactly my kind of weather these days ☀️☀️ Sun during the day but not humid, cool and breezy in the evening, light clothes without any stuffiness — such a happy temperature and humidity 🫶🏻 On days like this a terrace restaurant is a must, so my husband and I went on a date to Andover, a spot in Pangyo famous for brunch, for the first time in a while.

Andover on the Pangyo Baekhyeon-dong café street: how quiet is the weekday terrace?

Andover is a Western restaurant on the Pangyo café street, and it was quiet when we went on a weekday. There are lots of great restaurants and pretty spots on the Pangyo café street that I visit often, but this was my first time at Andover. The owner was so kind, which made this Pangyo restaurant an even more memorable one.

Three dishes we ordered at Andover

Andover had a wide range of dishes that all looked delicious, and some were noticeably different from the usual Italian menu, which felt refreshing. After a good while deciding, we ordered the cod gratin — something I'd never seen before — along with the Andover anchovy pasta and the lasagna!

While we enjoyed the terrace weather and waited, the Andover anchovy pasta arrived ~~ It's an oil pasta with savory depth from anchovy and tomato, topped with pine nuts, black olives, and parsley, and you can order it spicy — so we did.

The noodles were cooked to absolute perfection!! The spice level was just right for waking up the appetite, and it was loaded with my favorite cherry tomatoes and olives, so it was so good 🍅🫒 I got curious about how the regular (non-spicy) version tastes too haha.

The noodles were coated in oil so it obviously couldn't be anything but delicious, and the combination of sweet tomato and salty olive was the best. After one bite my husband and I both said, this place is legit ~~ 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Also, at this Pangyo brunch restaurant, the food visuals were so pretty I couldn't stop taking photos ..✨✨ The taste was great, but the plating was so upscale too ㅜㅜ Even the tableware was pretty piece by piece, which made the food look even more beautiful and delicious.

Best dish of the day: Andover's signature lasagna

My husband's pick, Andover's signature lasagna, was the best dish we had that day at this Pangyo brunch spot ..🫢 My dad's homemade lasagna, packed with ingredients and love, is the lasagna of my life, so I'd never really enjoyed lasagna I bought outside — but Andover pulled it off !!!!! I think this is the first time I've actually thought store-bought lasagna was delicious ?!!! 👍🏻👍🏻

It also came with a fresh salad and bread on the side, great for pairing, and the bread in particular was crispy and nutty, so piling it with lasagna was a perfect match 💯💯 The bread was also thick and generously sized, which made this bread-lover even happier haha.

The arugula salad speaks for itself — salad lovers, rejoice ~~❤️💚

Andover cod gratin: mild enough for kids

Curious about a dish I'd never tried, the cod gratin is made with boneless cod, potato, and milk as a base, with herbs and spices — the tender cod combined with the subtly nutty potato had a quiet charm.

It wasn't overly seasoned, so it wasn't heavy at all, and I think even young kids could enjoy this cod gratin from Andover, this Pangyo brunch spot.

But what I actually loved most were these roasted vegetables — I don't know how they roasted vegetables to taste this incredibly good, the vegetables alone were delicious enough on their own 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Andover for brunch or for a glass of wine

Nearly every other table besides ours was having wine with their meal, and the wine prices were reasonable with plenty of dishes to pair as anju (drinking snacks), so it seemed like a great spot whether you're coming for brunch or for wine. Great atmosphere, kind owner — this Pangyo restaurant Andover was pretty much perfect, and since I'm sure the other dishes are just as good, I'd absolutely come back ~~ The Baekhyeon-dong café street never disappoints ••💚💚
