Where is Miso Gopchang Wolseong, and what are the hours?

Miso Gopchang Wolseong is a gopchang (beef intestine) restaurant at 1196 Wolseong-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu. It's open Mon–Thu 17:00–24:00, with last order at 01:00 on Fri and Sat, and 23:00 on Sunday.

It's right across from Joam Park, so it's easy to find! It's grouped together in an area with lots of other meat restaurants.

What the dining room at Miso Gopchang Wolseong feels like

The dining hall at Miso Gopchang Wolseong might be a bit tight for a big group gathering, but it seemed like the perfect spot for a casual meal out or a date haha. It has that old-fashioned, upscale interior. Isn't the chandelier just so pretty?? ⭐️⭐️

You can also get dessert ice cream and there's a draw event too. I love a meat restaurant that gives you ice cream hahahaha. Eating ice cream after meat really cuts through the grease, you know?

Side dishes and dipping sauces

The basic side dishes at Miso Gopchang Wolseong are green onion kimchi and pickled radish. It would've been nice to have some fresh chive salad too, but oh well ㅠㅠ There's also wholegrain mustard sauce and wasabi salt on the side.

Nice and clean presentation, love that. They also gave us a soy sauce dip on top of it all!

I liked that the usage guide was so easy to read. Seeing separate info for the restroom, parking, and even a women's safety care bag really made me feel like this place thinks a lot about its customers.

The free clam soup with abalone

Miso Gopchang Wolseong comes with a free clam soup by default??? And it has abalone in it too, hahahaha. That's some serious hospitality. There's a generous amount of clams too!

Once the abalone is cooked, they clean it and serve it to you like this 🤍 The abalone was bigger and tastier than I expected. The clam soup was also spicy and rich, perfect as a drinking companion!

Mixed platter for two: how does the gopchang taste?

Once you finish the abalone, the main gopchang comes out. It comes pre-grilled once already!! I ordered the mixed platter for two 🧡

They cut everything up for you piece by piece, and even set aside the heart in advance!! They put it all on a small plate for you. It was nice just being able to sit back and watch haha. The gopchang had no unpleasant smell, so it was easy to eat without any hesitation, and the first bite had a real nutty, savory flavor!!!!! The outside was grilled to a nice golden brown while the inside stayed chewy, so I kept reaching for more 🤤

They also showed us the best way to eat it, which was nice haha. Eating it that way really did make it taste even better.

Here's how it looks once trimmed! From here you just cook it a bit more before eating. There's grillable cheese, potato rice cakes, chives, and enoki mushrooms served alongside. The cheese is seriously amazing, you have to add it.... There was also plenty of gopchang, enough for two people to eat until full, and eating it together with the side items kept it from feeling too greasy.

The signature milk-daechang

And this signature milk-daechang (beef large intestine) is seriously... insane. It's genuinely so good ㅠㅠㅠㅠ It's basically a lump of fat, but... it melts in your mouth...ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I wanted to order more, but you know how it is... the fact that you can't eat too much gopchang... Even knowing that, it was good enough that I wanted seconds.

Mid-meal draw event: winning a 4th-place draft beer

Miso Gopchang Wolseong also runs a draw event while you're eating? Hahahaha. I won 4th place and got a free draft beer, yay. I was hoping for 1st place but ^^^ unfortunately, no luck.

First prize is a whopping ₩50,000 meal voucher, so whoever wins that is seriously lucky..💪🏻💪🏻

Finishing with fried rice and yogurt ice cream

I also ordered fried rice separately! They poured in egg on the side and mixed in the leftover meat to make it for us. Pressing it down firmly at the bottom makes it a hundred million times tastier, so once you get it, press it down right away!!!!!
