Family weekend dinner set at Kkamuri, a Sangbong Station bar

On a weekend evening, my mom, my sister and I were trying to figure out what to eat together after a while apart, and I ended up craving warm eomuk-tang (fish cake soup). So I looked up bars near Sangbong Station, figuring hot broth with skewers on the side would be perfect no matter the weather. This time I visited Kkamuri, a bar near Sangbong Station. It's been around for a while so I was curious — here's my review!

Kkamuri's hours, parking, and corkage

• Hours: Tue–Sun 16:00 – 04:00, last order 03:30

• Corkage allowed (excluding drinks sold in-store), ₩20,000 per bottle
• No parking

This is the exterior of Kkamuri. There were tables set up outside too. Since evenings have gotten a lot cooler, eating outside seemed like a nice option.

Visiting Kkamuri, the Sangbong Station bar. Maybe because it was a weekend evening, there were quite a few customers inside, and overall it had a comfortable atmosphere for a relaxed drink.

There was plenty of seating inside too, and the air conditioning was running strong, so it felt nice and cool.

The owner's Home Run Set we ordered for three

With my mom, my sister and me visiting together, we picked out the menu, and what I wanted most that day was, of course, eomuk-tang! What we ordered was the owner's Home Run Set. It was listed as 10 skewers + eomuk-tang + a random side dish, so it seemed like a way to try several different snacks at once, which we ordered. It also seemed like a good fit for the three of us to share a little of everything.

First out came sauce, rabokki (rabokki-flavored snack) crackers, and bread topped with lemon cream.

Eomuk-tang (fish cake soup)

After ordering and waiting a bit, the eomuk-tang came out first. Eating fish cake with the warm broth was perfect for sitting and chatting with my mom and sister on a weekend evening. It came with 3 big skewers!

The portion of small fish cakes was also pretty generous.

The skewers came in a nice variety, so it was fun picking one after another to try, and honestly nothing beats skewers as a drinking snack.

But where was the random side dish?

There was one thing that was a bit disappointing, though. Our owner's Home Run Set was clearly listed as 10 skewers + eomuk-tang + a random side dish, but what actually came out was only the 10 skewers and the eomuk-tang. So I asked a staff member, "Isn't there a random side dish coming separately?" and they told me that was everything included.

I'm not sure whether the menu composition has changed, or whether the random side dish was dropped but the set description just hasn't been updated yet. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend checking before you order whether the random side dish is still included.

Is this a good Sangbong Station bar to go to with family?

If you're looking for a spot around Sangbong Station to have a drink with eomuk-tang and skewers as your snacks, Kkamuri could be a solid candidate.

Maybe because I went with my mom and sister this time, it felt different from the usual nights out with friends. Rather than a loud, drink-focused vibe, it was a good time for sharing tasty snacks one by one and chatting. The eomuk-tang especially kept pulling me back with its warm broth, and with several kinds of skewers, all three of us could pick according to our own taste.
