Do you guys like tonkatsu? I really love it haha. Today I visited Katsu Monster Myeonmok, famous as a tonkatsu spot near Myeonmok Station and Seoil University! Below is a photo of the thick loin cutlet I had there haha.

Katsu Monster near Myeonmok Station: the menu before you even go in

Katsu Monster Myeonmok has a menu board outside too. It's nice that you can check the menu before going in if you want. The menu is quite varied and the prices are good haha. Dining out isn't cheap these days, so this felt like great value!

Once inside, the cozy little space felt really warm and welcoming! I could see tenderloin katsu and loin katsu on the menu too. The friendly owner greeted us warmly~ There are also seats facing the window, so it seems good for eating solo too!

The ₩29,900 two-person set: what's in it?

You can check and order the menu through a kiosk on the table, which is convenient~ We ordered the two-person set: choice of 2 tonkatsu + 1 large noodle dish for ₩29,900! The composition was solid and the price was reasonable, so I liked it!

Cheese katsu: packed with mozzarella

The cheese katsu set from our two-person order arrived! Can you see how much cheese is in that photo?!?! The mozzarella is thick and fully packed in!!! The meat is layered generously on both sides too! It was genuinely delicious! If you like cheese tonkatsu, you'll be satisfied haha.

Looking at the photo makes me want to eat it again~~ Slurp~~ The cheese wasn't greasy, just nutty and savory, so both my boyfriend and I enjoyed it a lot! Though if you're not a cheese person, feel free to skip this one~

Tenderloin katsu and cold soba — noodles can also be swapped for udon

And then the tenderloin katsu and cold soba from the two-person set came out too. For the set's tonkatsu, you can choose loin or tenderloin, and the noodles can also be swapped for udon! Since it was a hot day, we went with cold soba haha.

Tenderloin katsu and cold soba served as part of the two-person set

The loin katsu was fried so crispy! Look at that golden-brown crust!! It really had just been fried, so it was super crispy and delicious!

The cold soba was nice too — the ice was huge, so it stayed cool all the way through the meal~ Pro tip for the cold soba: add a bit more fresh wasabi from the side-dish station for extra kick, it's tastier that way haha.

And I love cabbage salad — can you see how generous the portion is? Even if you're not into vegetables, drizzling on the shio sauce makes them tasty too haha.

Look at the cross-section of the loin tonkatsu — so thick, right?! So good!!!!!!!! It had just the right amount of fat with the lean meat, so it wasn't tough at all — crispy and mild and really delicious!!!

So thick even in cross-section!!!!! And they had Himalayan pink salt, so I sprinkled some on the loin katsu — sweet and salty together, went really well with the mild flavor of the meat! Even my boyfriend, who's very serious about meat, said it was delicious haha. If you like tonkatsu, you have to try Katsu Monster Myeonmok, a top spot near Myeonmok Station!!!
