Seochon brunch café with hanok views from the 3rd floor: Wine Stein
In short
Wine Stein Seochon is a third-floor café and wine bar on Pirundae-ro in Seochon, Jongno, Seoul, a 377m walk from Gyeongbokgung Station Exit 1, serving coffee by day and wine at night. Arriving right at the 11:30 AM opening, two of us ordered the Lunch Club A and B sets with Americanos and finished every plate: creamy mushroom soup, a croissant sandwich with apple, and a cold-style salad pasta. With hanok rooftops and open sky through the third-floor picture windows, Wine Stein Seochon is an easy pick for a Seochon brunch date.

I personally love Seochon so much, even among all of Seoul! On a nice day I just want to wander its alleys for no reason haha. This time I was looking for somewhere to enjoy a relaxed brunch in Seochon, and ended up at Wine Stein Seochon 🍷
From the brunch menu to the vibe, it was a great place to take things slow, so today I'm leaving an honest review of my visit! If you're hunting for a Seochon brunch spot or a good-vibe Seochon date place, this post is for you 🤍
Where is Wine Stein Seochon, and what are the opening hours?

- Location: 9-2 Pirundae-ro, 3rd floor, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea — 377m from Gyeongbokgung Station Exit 1
- Hours: 11:30 AM – 11:00 PM
- Closed: Open every day!
Wine Stein runs as a café during the day and a wine bar in the evening! The café menu is only available until 5:00 PM, so keep that in mind!
The open kitchen, desserts, and snacks by the counter
Wine Stein has an open kitchen! You get a natural view of the food being prepared, and the open kitchen plus counter area felt way more kitsch and cute than I expected — it was adorable! So on top of coming for brunch, I had a lot of fun just people-watching the space.

They apparently prepare various desserts for guests with a sweet tooth! I visited right at opening so no desserts were ready yet, but I love red bean, so I was super curious about the whole red bean paste monaka..!
+ There were simple snacks set out at the counter! Biscuits, Mentos, and lollipops!

What comes in each Lunch Club set, and how much does it cost?
For anyone curious about Wine Stein's other menu items, here's the menu board! Please check the photos~~~
I came with my partner and brunch was the whole point!!! So we ordered the brunch sets exclusive to Wine Stein!
- LUNCH CLUB ₩16,500
- A: Croissant sandwich + salad + pasta
- B: Croissant sandwich + mushroom soup
- C: Salad + pasta + mushroom soup
- + Americano or cola/cider
- Latte upgrade +₩500
- Wine upgrade +₩4,000
- Extra soup or bread +₩1,000

Third-floor picture windows, seating, and different lighting at every table
After ordering, I took my time looking around the interior! Since the place is on the 3rd floor and there are no tall buildings nearby, you could see everything through the window at a glance — the natural light and open feel were amazing..!

You could even see a hanok (traditional Korean house) beyond the window, which made it even prettier..💕

There are window seats and table seats, so it can hold a lot of people — up to 40 guests! + The spacing between seats was generous too, which I really liked 💕
This was personally my favorite view in the whole place. It was a pretty hot day, but the sky was so clear and pretty, and the blue sky through the picture window was especially striking! ☁️
Thanks to that, the space felt open and cool rather than stuffy, and just spacing out at the sky while eating delicious brunch was pure healing! I imagine it'd have its own charm on a rainy day too..🤍
And another thing I loved here! The lighting fixtures hanging over each table were all different! Even though it's the same space, the different lighting designs gave each table a slightly different mood! You could feel the attention to these small details, which made it fun to look around — I love noticing little details like this in a space, so it was quietly delightful! 💡💡💡

Plants everywhere and the wine display corner
But honestly, what I liked most of all was the plant décor...🌿 Green plants placed all around made the space feel so much more alive, and the hanging plants were especially cute ㅜㅜ.. I wanted to take them home with me...🌱
Another spot that caught my eye! On one side, various wines were beautifully displayed! And they weren't just there for decoration — they're actually for sale! If you love wine, you could come for brunch and end up picking out a bottle you like too!
During the day it's a relaxed brunch spot, and in the evening you can enjoy the atmosphere with wine, so it has a different charm depending on the time of day! 🤍
While looking around I mentally noted a few wines I personally wanted to try! Each wine has its price listed, so you don't have to bother asking the owner, and there's no worry about getting overcharged hehe 🤍
How do the Lunch Club A and B sets taste, from coffee to mushroom soup?
While slowly looking around the interior, our order arrived!!! My partner and I ordered Lunch Club A + B, with iced Americano as our drink!
- A: Croissant sandwich + salad + pasta
- B: Croissant sandwich + mushroom soup

The coffee came out first! It had a moderate acidity — not too sour or intense, so it was easy to drink without any pressure! The initial sip had a subtle tang that finished clean toward the end! It paired really well with the brunch menu! 🤍

+ And the tableware they gave us!

Salad and mushroom soup
This is the salad + mushroom soup included in the C set! 🥗🍄 The salad was fresh, and light as it looks! And the mushroom soup was seriously delicious! You could really taste the deep, savory flavor of the mushrooms, and the overall texture was rich and creamy — one spoonful and it was warm and filling right away!
I honestly wanted to learn the recipe and make it at home...

The croissant sandwich with apple
The croissant sandwich 🥐 included in the A set. Between the crispy, buttery croissant was fresh salad greens, ham, and cheese! And the apple added in was a stroke of genius! 🍎 The salty, savory flavor of the ham and cheese, cut through by the crisp texture and subtle sweetness of the apple !!!

+ The side salad that came with it had black olives and bocconcini cheese, salty and savory and delicious! I even ended up stealing from my partner's plate.. hehe...

Carrot rapée
And the carrot rapée 🥕 that came alongside it. Even people who aren't fans of that distinct carrot smell or taste could enjoy this one! You barely notice the typical carrot aroma, and it's centered on a savory, mild flavor, so it was much easier to eat than I expected!!! The crisp texture was still there, and it went perfectly with the sandwich — an absolutely perfect match!!!

Salad pasta, served cold
And then another dish — the salad pasta 🍝. Since it's a cold-style pasta, the whole thing was light and refreshing to eat! The noodles and vegetables blended well with the sauce, giving it a clean but savory flavor, and the shrimp mixed in throughout went really well with it too! 🦐
The combination of thin noodles, crisp vegetables, and springy shrimp... I thought it'd be a light dish, but the portion was actually quite generous, so it was more filling than I expected! A salad pasta that worked as an easy brunch dish but was also filling enough for a full meal...!🤍🤍

The same old empty-bowl ending as always lol. Isn't this proof of how much we enjoyed it, more than any photo could show? 😋 We finished everything without leaving a scrap today too!
Is Wine Stein Seochon worth it for a Seochon brunch date?
From the atmosphere to the interior to the pretty view through the picture window, everything worked for me — and the food and coffee were satisfying too 🤍 The kitschy touches scattered around the space and the plant décor were especially memorable, so I got to eat great brunch and admire a pretty space, a proper healing session..! If you're looking for a good-vibe brunch spot or date place in Seochon, I strongly recommend Wine Stein Seochon!
