Seochon café wine bar solo brunch at the bar table: Wine Stein

In short

Wine Stein Seochon is a café and wine bar on the 3rd floor of a building on Pilun-daero in Seochon, Jongno-gu, Seoul, near Gyeongbokgung Station Exit 1. Sitting alone at the bar table, the writer ordered the Lunch Club A set (16,000 won including a drink) and a latte, and the croissant sandwich, salad and angel hair salad pasta made for a generous plate. With floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over hanok roofs and red brick buildings, Wine Stein Seochon is an easy brunch seat even for a solo diner.

Brunch spread set at a window-side table at Wine Stein Seochon

Back in Seochon for brunch after a long while!! The sky was so blue and the weather was gorgeous that day, so it ended up being a really healing time. The carefully made brunch was really delicious too. A meal someone else made for you is honestly the best.

This café-wine bar in Seochon is near Gyeongbokgung Station Exit 1, so it's also a great spot for a Seochon date. I love how the neighborhood has that quiet, old-town charm that's so distinctly Seochon.

Where is Wine Stein Seochon and what is the space like?

Wine Stein Seochon is on the 3rd floor of a building on Pilun-daero, a Seochon café-wine bar with generously spaced tables. The floor-to-ceiling window view was really nice. I love the hanok (traditional Korean houses) and red brick charm visible through the glass.

It felt open and the objets were so pretty — a genuinely healing time at Wine Stein Seochon.

Being on the 3rd floor, I expected a really good view, and it delivered — there are no tall buildings nearby, so the wide-open outlook was really satisfying.

There's also a group table, which would be great for a work dinner.

In the middle of the day, Wine Stein Seochon was beautiful with natural light pouring in through the big windows. Since it operates as both a Seochon café and a wine bar, you can enjoy brunch and wine together. A Seochon café-wine bar where daytime drinking is totally an option! 🥰💕

With the blue sky and the calm, quiet Seochon vibe visible through the window, I really loved it.

There aren't many tall buildings around, so it never feels cramped, and the view stays wide open.

Daytime wine list and the prop shop inside Wine Stein Seochon

True to being a Seochon café-wine bar, Wine Stein Seochon has a diverse wine lineup. You can enjoy wine starting from 11am.

The wine descriptions and notes were written out in detail too. Recommended if you're a wine newbie like me!

Wine with detailed descriptions and light snacks for sale

They also sell light snacks that pair well with wine.

There's a prop shop attached too, which was fun to browse. They had unique objets and really practical clip pins that were so pretty — and various shapes of aluminum teapots, which caught my eye since I've gotten into tea after a one-day class.

How was the latte at Wine Stein Seochon?

The latte I ordered first came out first.

The latte that arrived first

The beans had a fragrant acidity, and once stirred well, the nutty flavor really came through. Total coffee gem!!

What comes in the 16,000-won Lunch Club A set?

Lunch Club A set — croissant sandwich, salad & pasta

Full spread of the Lunch Club A set

I ordered set A from the Lunch Club menu. It comes with a drink included, plus a croissant sandwich, salad, and salad pasta — a healthy, hearty combo. At ₩16,000 with a drink included, it felt like great value.

Salad with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and olives

The cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and olives were fresh and tangy in a really nice balance, so I demolished the salad happily. I've been really into salads lately, but making them myself is such a hassle, so I love eating them out like this.

Thinly sliced carrot rapé

The carrot rapé was thinly sliced but had just the right crunch — the texture was really nice.

Set spread including the croissant sandwich

The croissant sandwich

The croissant sandwich rounded out the set with a hearty, healthy touch. It was packed with apple, ham, cheese, and arugula, which made it filling and satisfying. The croissant was pleasantly crisp on the outside, and with four ingredients tucked inside, every bite was fun.

The angel hair salad pasta

The salad pasta used thin angel hair noodles, and the soft texture was really lovely.

Salad pasta made with angel hair noodles

The salty oriental sauce came with shrimp, cherry tomatoes, and arugula, giving it a crisp yet sharp flavor that I really liked. I once bought arugula myself to make a sandwich and it was seriously expensive… 🥲

Oriental sauce salad pasta topped with shrimp and arugula

The angel hair was cooked soft, so it slipped down easily like somyeon (thin wheat noodles). Pasta noodles are said to raise blood sugar more slowly, so they're good for dieting and also good for pregnant women managing gestational diabetes. It's tasty enough that I'd want to eat it often even without any health goal in mind 💗

Thin angel hair noodles wound around a fork

So good... I'm not really an al dente person, so I love this thin noodle so much.

Sandwich filling with a high ratio of arugula

It's not just a bare sandwich — it's loaded with cheese, tomato, and salad too, and the arugula ratio was high, which I love its sharp flavor, so I was really satisfied.

Croissant sandwich pinned with a star-shaped clip

The croissant sandwich came with an adorable star-shaped pin holding it together! It wasn't too big, so it was a satisfying, easy-to-bite size.

Brunch eaten at the bar table while looking out the window

The best seat for eating alone, and wine next time

I sat at the bar table, and eating brunch while looking out at the wide-open view was genuinely enjoyable.

Next time I want to come back for wine~ The lunch set is so good that just swapping the drink for wine would make for a lovely daytime drink too.
