Hurato Sikdang Isu Branch: a Tokyo-style gyukatsu specialist near Isu Station

What comes in the gyukatsu and omurice set menu

This time I went with the hearty set menu

Set menu served with both gyukatsu and omurice

The combination of gyukatsu and omurice at Hurato Sikdang Isu was seriously the best! For drinks I picked the refreshing yuzu-flavored Chilsung Cider, perfectly crisp and cool to go with the meal!

They also have Ramune cider and a variety of side dishes on offer, which made the whole meal really satisfying!

Grilling the gyukatsu yourself on a personal tabletop stove

At Hurato Sikdang Isu, when you put the meat on the personal stove right at your table, it sizzles and a savory aroma drifts up!

You can cook it to whatever doneness you like, so the outside turns crisp while the inside stays juicy and tender!

Dip it in wasabi or the special sauce and your mouth just fills with savory umami as it melts away, haha. I'll go into more detail below!

How does the signature gyukatsu taste?

What I had was

Crispy fried signature gyukatsu

The signature gyukatsu is fried crisp on the outside, and the look alone really gets your appetite going! It's so fun getting to grill the rare beef yourself on the mini tabletop stove to your taste — crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside, with every bite making you go wow (•̀ᴗ•́)൬★

Put one piece at a time on the little personal stove and cook it, and you can enjoy it warm at exactly the doneness you want! The meat is so tender, and the more you chew the deeper the flavor gets — pair it with wasabi and salt and it's clean and refreshing!

The Japanese-style soft-boiled omurice

The Japanese-style omurice we had alongside was perfect too! The soft-boiled omurice with its dreamy, fluffy egg (๑˙ꄃ˙๑)♡⃛ — cut it with a knife and the egg just spreads open softly! Mix it all up with the special sauce and it's the best. Besides that, there's also plenty of other Japanese dishes to choose from depending on your taste, like the steki don (beef bowl) with its sweet-savory special sauce, or the Yamagata minced pork curry (•̀ᴗ•́)و

At Hurato Sikdang Isu, scoop up a big spoonful of rice, sauce, and egg together and you get this melt-in-your-mouth feeling!
