Did you know there's a spot in Sadang that gives you a ridiculously generous side-dish spread — not the usual 'aunt course' but an 'uncle course'? (feat. that white stuff on the tangerine is just the pith, haha.)
While hunting for a proper bar in Sadang, I ordered the uncle course at Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch (진달래실비 사당점), a spot that's kept its full 90s pub vibe, and the table filled up completely with sashimi, pork cutlet, spicy pork, japchae, bossam (boiled pork wrap), and a seafood steam.
Where is Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch and how far is it from Sadang Station?
Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch is about a 3–5 minute walk from Sadang Station Exit 7. Seriously close, right?

It's on the 2nd floor, but the sign reading 'Jindallae Soju Beer' in huge letters means you can't miss it. The retro signage gives off such a nostalgic feel that it naturally caught my eye as I walked by. It's right in the Sadang food alley too, so it's perfect as a meeting spot.
1990s pub interior and live baseball on the projector
Walking into Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch feels like a total time-slip back to the 90s. Old soju posters, baseball jerseys, green walls — the vintage vibe is fully intact at Jindallae Silbi.

They also play baseball games on a projector, which makes the whole place lively and nostalgic. Even the table chairs and water bottles are retro through and through (the owner really committed to the concept, haha).
*FYI! Rice and instant noodles are unlimited refill at the self-serve bar.
How much is the samchon-kase course and what comes with it?
The uncle course at Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch is ₩39,000 per person for 15 dishes, and after 8pm it's ₩20,000 per person for 6 dishes. Jindallae Silbi pretty much runs entirely on the uncle course system! So come prepared to burst, please.

If you prepay and leave a Naver review for 'Jindallae Silbi,' you can also enter a raffle draw. 1st prize is a 100% free meal today (for up to 4 people), and 2nd prize is a free ₩39,000 course for one — winning either would be an absolute jackpot. (On the day I went, the 1st prize had already been won. We got 5th prize.)
Finally, the uncle course table was set. Sashimi, pork cutlet, spicy pork, japchae, bossam, soy crab, spam, flounder sweet-and-sour, seafood steam, two kinds of sashimi, tofu, porridge, seafood pancake, spicy fish stew...! My jaw dropped at the endlessly appearing spread 👅

How were the giant pork cutlet, spicy pork and soy-marinated crab?
Each dish was solid quality too! The thick giant pork cutlet came piled with old-school sauce, and the spicy pork stir-fry came with a rice ball rolled in seaweed flakes (so good and spicy). The old-style sausage kept pulling my chopsticks back for more as a drinking snack.

Bossam is best wrapped with kimchi, the flounder sweet-and-sour was surprisingly good, and the soy-marinated crab is a genuine rice thief.

The biggest surprise: steamed red snow crab
What surprised me most was this seafood steam. Red snow crab, scallops, clams, whole octopus, and shrimp, all steamed in a bamboo steamer basket — I found myself thinking, 'Wait, a bar like this gives you this?'
The snow crab legs were packed with meat, so one suck and the sweet crab meat just slides right out. Considering this amount of food, I honestly wondered if the restaurant was making any profit at this price.

The giant pork cutlet, sliced open, shows the thick cut of meat all the way through (I ate the whole thing... totally stuffed). Crispy outside, juicy inside — exactly that old-school Western-style cutlet taste. The soy-marinated crab is on par with dedicated specialty restaurants, so definitely give it a try!

They even steam a whole squid, and it comes out chewy and sweet. Seafood lovers will be completely satisfied with this uncle course alone.

With all these side dishes, a cold draft beer is all you could ask for. We finished off with spicy fish stew and melon!
Is Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch a good spot for a work dinner?
Jindallae Silbi Sadang Branch is a place where I ate until I was completely stuffed and left in a great mood. The staff were super kind too, so it's great for a fun group gathering!
