Face-size pizza slices and truffle fries at an Isu pizza pub: Raymond

A review of Raymond Isu Branch, a great Isu spot for pizza and beer

I've suddenly been craving pizza and beer lately, so I went looking for a good pizza-and-beer spot in Isu and ended up at Raymond Isu Branch! From the American Bulbeok Pizza (basically a bulgogi burger turned into a pizza) to the Brown Potato Pizza topped with Lotus (a caramelized biscuit brand), they've got a lot of menu items you won't find elsewhere, so it's worth seeking out haha.

Just pizza felt like it wouldn't be enough, so we added truffle fries and rosé tteokbokki as sides and had a proper feast with beer haha. The taste was super satisfying!! It was my first time trying the Lotus pizza and it was sweet and delicious, and the American Bulbeok Pizza, which really was the pizza version of a bulgogi burger, was also amazing,, the beer just kept going down haha. If you're looking for a great pizza-and-beer spot in Isu, I recommend Raymond!!!!

The inside of Raymond Isu Branch was really spacious and clean haha. I went after work, and there were quite a few other people who'd come for pizza and beer after work like us.

The pizza size is genuinely huge

It was convenient that there was a restroom inside too haha

What we ordered at Raymond Isu Branch and what it cost

They also had set menus that come with pizza, chicken, and fries together, but since we've been eating light lately, we ordered à la carte — two pizza slices, plus truffle fries added and rosé tteokbokki!! And draft beer was non-negotiable!!!

The pizza came out first, and one slice was almost the size of my face;; I thought paying nearly ₩9,000 for a single slice was a bit pricey, but seeing the size, the price made sense haha. It was pretty big, so I think it was smart to only order two slices haha. Even one slice was surprisingly filling — if you're visiting with a group, I'd recommend picking a few different flavors to share!

Big American Bulbeok Pizza, 8,900 won: a bulgogi burger as a pizza

This is the American Bulbeok Pizza~~! It's a seasonal limited item, basically the pizza version of a bulgogi burger. That sweet sauce drizzled on top is seriously delicious;;;

The photos don't capture the size — I feel like even eating one slice alone would fill you up haha

The American Bulbeok Pizza has an insane balance of sweet-salty bulgogi, cheese, and sauce!! It's a familiar flavor somehow, but also not a common one(?) haha. After always eating pepperoni or cheese pizza, having something different for once made it taste even better haha.

If bulgogi burgers are your favorite, I highly recommend the Bulbeok pizza

Brown Potato Pizza (Lotus), 8,900 won: the sweet-and-salty slice

This one I was personally more curious about — the Brown Potato Pizza (Lotus)! It's a sweet-and-salty pizza with rich, sweet Lotus flavor plus mashed potato salad on top. At first I wondered what kind of combination that could possibly be, but once I tried it, it worked surprisingly well haha.

How did they even think of combining that distinct Lotus sweetness + crunchy texture with soft potato salad;; It all came together so well in my mouth that my friend and I just kept marveling as we ate haha.

Ugh,,, writing this post is making me crave it again,, this would taste amazing even eaten by the Han River. If you're tired of regular pizza flavors, please go try this Lotus pizza at Raymond,?

We also added garlic dipping sauce for the pizza

Truffle fries add-on at Raymond Isu Branch, 6,500 won

When ordering pizza, you can add truffle fries, so I added it right away haha. It's cheaper than ordering it separately

The fries are thin and crispy, so they just keep disappearing haha. Gives off Lotteria fries vibes

There's a faint truffle aroma too haha

⭐️Drinking beer between bites is a must⭐️

Rosé tteokbokki, 14,900 won: mild enough for weak spice eaters

Pizza + tteokbokki combo, chicken + tteokbokki combo — that's my favorite thing right now haha

The spice level is mild enough even for spice wimps!! Not overwhelming, just right haha

The rice cakes were soft and chewy, and the rosé sauce was so tasty haha. Dipping the pizza crust in it was amazing — it'd probably pair really well with chicken too

Why Raymond Isu Branch is worth it for pizza and beer in Isu

I felt like I was going to burst, but somehow kept eating until we cleared everything, barely leaving a trace haha. Next time I'm craving pizza in Isu, I don't think I'll even hesitate — I'll just go to Raymond. The place is super clean and the food tastes clean too, no fuss about it haha. If you're looking for a great restaurant in Isu, or a great pizza-and-beer spot in Isu, I recommend Raymond Isu Branch!!!
