Korean BBQ restaurant in Suwon with 9+ Wagyu: Olheun Gogi

Whenever I ask for a good beef place around Mangpo Station, Olheun Gogi (옳은고기) is always the recommendation! They say they select only premium Australian 9+ grade Wagyu, and you can really tell from the quality of the meat. Anyone who has tried the beef comes back for more. I went with my family for beef, and as expected, everyone was totally satisfied 😍

How close is it to Mangpo Station, and is there parking?

It is on the first floor at 20 Yeongtong-ro 218beon-gil, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, just 165m from Mangpo Station Exit 6—a three-minute walk. About four cars can park in front of the restaurant ;) Hours are 12:00–03:00, Monday through Sunday.

A spacious dining hall and group rooms

The restaurant is comfortable and super spacious! Even on a Sunday evening, there were so many families dining here.

Beyond the main hall, there are two large rooms further inside! One seats 12–14 people and another seats 30, so you can enjoy company dinners, family gatherings, or club meetups privately. Reserve a room through Naver Booking or by phone~ For room bookings and group rentals, assignment is first-come, first-served. They also say full venue rental is possible for groups of at least 90 and up to 108 people.

Beef and pork set menus

The menu has beef and pork options. Among them are the Olheun Beef Table Set and Olheun Pork Table Set, made up of the most popular items. Today I ordered the Olheun Beef Table Set~ It comes as a full spread of Korean beef yukhoe (seasoned raw beef), grillable cheese, a generous steamed egg, and a whole assortment of 9+ grade Wagyu! It was the same when I had pork here last time—the set is so well put together that I always order one first when I come.

Side dishes and the Olheun Beef Table Set

First of all, even the complimentary side dishes are incredibly generous! There is white kimchi, seasoned lettuce, myeonginamul (pickled wild garlic leaves), gat kimchi (mustard-leaf kimchi), pickled cucumber, wasabi, ssamjang (savory dipping paste), salt, and garlic. There is even braised fish, so it feels like such a complete spread. The side-dish selection is seriously the best.

The set has 600g of 9+ grade Wagyu assorted cuts, mushrooms, asparagus, and kabocha squash. Since it is 9+ grade Wagyu, the color really does look different. The fresh ribeye, fresh top blade, and fresh boneless short rib with beautiful marbling all looked sooo delicious. And the staff at Olheun Gogi grill everything themselves! They have at least a year, and often three to four years, of grilling experience, so whoever grills it, it is always delicious.

The yukhoe comes out first so you can eat it while the meat is grilling~ The yukhoe was seriously so good too >< Yukhoe is the besttt.

Then the staff grilled the beef... wow, it really melted in my mouth. The quality is definitely different with 9+ grade Wagyu. My whole family took one bite and just gasped. It melted so softly ><

The steamed egg and grillable cheese in the set went so well together too~ The staff grilled the cheese as well, then wrapped the meat in it for us like this—seriously the bestㅠ If you love grillable cheese, this combination is just perfect.

The ribeye and top blade both had such lovely marbling, and of course they were really delicious! They melted in the mouth, with tender, moist juices that tasted amazing. The more I chewed, the nuttier they became too~ Truly the best.

The Handon Couple Set and bibim naengmyeon too

After finishing all the beef, we ordered a Handon Couple Set too~ It comes with two portions of pork belly and one portion of fresh pork neck. I already know how delicious the pork is here, so I ordered with complete trust! You can see how good the pork looks, right~? It was so delicious! We kept exclaiming as we happily ate the pork too.

And there is only one photo each of our two bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles).... We mixed them up and ate them so happily, but apparently I have no mixing photo lol. Still, the bibim naengmyeon was good too~ It went so well with the pork belly~

This was honestly among the TOP beef meals I have had recently—so tender and overflowing with juices!!! I really recommend Olheun Gogi as a great beef spot near Mangpo Station ❤️
