Suyeong restaurant with coloring mats and pasta: Extra Mile, Busan
In short
Extra Mile is an Italian-style restaurant in Suyeong, Busan. My sister and I shared a birria taco and salad half-and-half pizza, two pastas, and a house salad while coloring at our window seat. A fun, shareable meal for a group.

I was looking for a lovely Italian-style restaurant and visited Extra Mile 💛 From its pretty white-house-like exterior to the clean wood-toned interior, it was completely my style before I even went in! We tried a little of everything: a half birria taco and half salad pizza, white ragu pasta, tomato pasta, and a house salad 🤍

They even had paper table mats to color in while waiting for the food, which made visiting with my sister extra fun. Let’s get into my Extra Mile story haha.
Extra Mile is on the first floor at 11 Suyeong-ro 554beonga-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, and is open from 11:00 to 21:00. Last orders are at 20:00. You can reserve through Naver, and the ₩10,000 reservation deposit is included in your bill, so you only pay the remaining balance when ordering. Catchtable reservations are available too!

There is a Catchtable kiosk on-site as well.
A pretty exterior like a white house

Extra Mile sits down a Gwangalli alley and looks like a detached white house. The white walls, black railing, and brick steps leading to the entrance worked so nicely together that it looked neat and pretty even from afar ✨

Instead of a large sign, there was a blue plate-shaped decoration and a menu at the entrance, giving it a distinctly Extra Mile feel 💙
A wood-toned interior with an open kitchen

The interior was decorated mainly in light wood tones, making it feel warm and comfortable. There was a long bar table in front of the kitchen and regular tables further inside for a relaxed meal. Since it is an open kitchen, you can watch the food being prepared, and I loved how bright and tidy everything felt ✨

We sat by the window—so pretty, right? 🥹 It might be worth requesting a window seat when booking. Near the entrance, there was space to hang coats and aprons too. It is handy for anyone worried about sauce splashing onto their clothes while eating pizza or tomato pasta.
The coloring table mats my sister loved
At first I thought they were just individual paper placemats, but looking closer, they were coloring table mats you could fill in yourself haha. Each seat had an illustrated paper mat and crayons in several colors.

We could color them however we liked while the food was prepared. My sister quietly got really into it, so the wait was not boring at all 😲 I think it would be a small but fun activity for a family meal with children, or for a date where you color together. The crayons do not get on your hands 🖍
What we ordered at Extra Mile

We ordered the Extra Combo for 3–4 people at ₩68,000, a Zero Coke for ₩2,500, and orange juice for ₩4,000, for a total of ₩74,500. The Extra Combo comes with one pizza, two pastas, and one side. We chose half birria taco and half salad for the pizza, white ragu and tomato for the pastas, and house salad for the side. We also asked for the bacon to be left out of the salad.

Water, cups, napkins, and pickles were set up on one side of the restaurant. It was nice to be able to help ourselves to what we needed during the meal.
House salad with a delicious dressing

The house salad comes with butterhead lettuce, ranch dressing, bacon, nuts, and cheese.

Since we asked for no bacon, we mainly enjoyed the fresh vegetables, ranch dressing, cheese, and nuts.

The vegetables were generously sized and fresh, and the slightly spicy ranch dressing was so good. I wondered if it might feel plain without bacon, but the ranch and cheese gave it plenty of flavor, so I did not miss it at all. It was a great salad to whet the appetite before the mains or to have alongside the pizza and pasta 🥗
A half-and-half pizza with two flavors

We could not settle on just one pizza flavor, so we ordered half birria taco and half salad. One side was topped with birria meat and sour cream, while the other had fresh vegetables—two completely different looks on one pizza 🍕 If you visit with people who have different tastes, a half-and-half order lets everyone enjoy what they want.
Birria taco pizza with crunchy nachos

The birria taco pizza was topped with Mexican-style birria meat, salsa, and sour cream. There was a generous amount of meat, so it had a rich, hearty flavor.

Most of all, I loved the crushed nacho topping scattered over it. The nachos stayed crunchy between the savory meat and soft sour cream, making the texture fun too. It was a pizza interpretation of those signature taco flavors 🍕
Salad pizza with fresh vegetables and dressing

The salad pizza was topped with European greens, Caesar dressing, cranberries, olives, and nuts. The greens were fresh rather than soggy, so it really felt like eating a salad on pizza.

The nutty flavor of the thin layer of cheese paired beautifully with the fresh greens, making it nice and refreshing. Having a bite of salad pizza after the meat-loaded birria taco pizza created just the right balance between the two flavors.
White ragu pasta with fun wide noodles

The white ragu pasta features a long-simmered beef and pork sauce finished with cheese and parsley. The sauce was thick and creamy, with plenty of minced meat. Instead of smooth, standard pasta noodles, it had wide noodles with wavy edges, which made each bite fun haha. The thick sauce clung well between the noodles, so the pasta and sauce never felt separate.

The creamy flavor was delicious with the savory minced meat and cheese. If you like a pasta with a more distinct meaty flavor and texture than a typical cream pasta, I recommend the white ragu pasta.
Fresh tomato and cheese together

The tomato pasta uses San Marzano tomatoes, basil, and stracciatella cheese. White cheese and green basil on top of the red tomato pasta made it look incredibly appetizing from the start. The large pieces of tomato tasted fresh with every bite. Compared with tomato pasta made with sauce alone, the actual tomato texture made this one feel a little brighter and fresher haha.

Once I mixed the stracciatella cheese into the tomato sauce, the tanginess became much softer and richer. The tomatoes were fresh and the cheese was delicious, so I especially loved the combination of ingredients in this pasta.
Thoughtful drinks, down to the lemon slice
The Zero Coke came in a glass filled with ice and a lemon slice. It is a small detail, but it looked much cooler and prettier than drinking straight from a can or bottle, and I loved that thoughtfulness haha. The orange juice also came with ice and an orange slice. Its bright color made the table look even prettier in photos with the food.
My overall take on Extra Mile

From the white-house-like exterior to the warm wood-toned interior and open kitchen, Extra Mile was a neat, pretty Italian-style restaurant in Gwangalli.
- Half-and-half pizza with birria taco and salad
- Thick, creamy white ragu pasta
- Tomato pasta with fresh tomatoes and delicious cheese
- House salad with savory ranch dressing
- Drinks finished with lemon and orange slices
- Coloring table mats for the wait
What I especially liked about the half-and-half pizza was getting both the rich, meaty birria taco side and the fresh vegetable-topped salad pizza at once 🩵 The two pastas were also clearly different in flavor and texture, making this a great spread for several people to order and share ✨

With its pretty exterior and interior, it would make a lovely Gwangalli date spot, and the coloring table mats would also make it nice for a visit with children. I recommend Extra Mile to anyone looking for an atmospheric lunch in Gwangalli or a place to try distinctive half-and-half pizza and pasta haha.
