Suwon Korean BBQ with juicy beef and kimchi stew: Sogogi Twist

A spacious dining room and 2 hours of free parking

It is on the first floor of Millennium Plaza, and the restaurant is spacious overall, with plenty of room between tables, so it looked like a good place to visit with a group! You can use the building parking lot, and they provide 2 hours of free parking, so it was great for coming by car too!

Kiosk ordering and receipt-review perks

You place your order contactlessly at the kiosk, and we ordered the 1 kg assorted beef platter for ₩88,000, kimchi stew for ₩9,000, steamed rice for ₩1,500, and Terra beer for ₩5,000 ❤️ If you write a Naver receipt review, you get either doenjang sulbap (soybean-paste rice soup) or cheese steamed egg for free, so keep that in mind!

Side dishes that were delicious even before the beef arrived

The basic sides included seasoned scallion salad, wasabi-pickled onions, and kimchi and pickled vegetables that went so well with the meat. Every single one was so tasty! We started eating the sides before the meat arrived, and I immediately thought, oh, this place is good haha.

A 1 kg assorted beef platter with kkot-saeu-sal, salchi-sal, and jebi-churi

Today’s main event: the 1 kg assorted beef platter! Rather than being made up of just one cut, it came with kkot-saeu-sal (chuck flap), salchi-sal (top blade), and jebi-churi (neck chain), so it was nice to experience the different flavors and textures of each cut. Sogogi Twist Yeongtong District Office Branch (소고기트위스트 영통구청점) uses Prime-grade U.S. beef, too. I loved that the price was reasonable while they still paid attention to the quality of the meat.

Tender beef grilled a little at a time

Since it was beef, rather than putting it all on the grill at once, we cooked only as much as we wanted to eat and grilled it to our liking! Doesn’t the meat look amazing?ㅠㅠ The marbling was wonderfully balanced too.

I’d been cutting back on carbs lately, but the moment I took a bite of the beef, it was so good that I ordered steamed rice... haha. It paired incredibly well with rice, and while it was perfect with just the basic salt and wasabi, the onion-wasabi sauce served with garlic oil was such a perfect match. The beef was so tender and juicy that it just melted in my mouth, and I was happy the whole time I ate it ❤️

My partner and I are both good eaters, so we finished the whole 1 kg, and it was delicious from beginning to end!! Every side dish had its own appealing flavor, and the seasoning on the scallion salad was so good too. It was so tasty that all I can say is “delicious” over and over, but I really loved being able to eat this deliciously until bursting at this price.

Kimchi stew that justified its price

We ordered the kimchi stew because we wanted to have it with the beef. At first I thought, huh? The kimchi stew is a little pricey? But when it arrived, I understood hahaha. It was packed with tofu, meat, and kimchi, and kimchi stew needs good kimchi—and the kimchi was very well fermented, refreshing, and delicious! Rather than rich and heavy, it had a clear, clean, delicious kimchi-stew flavor.

We enjoyed the beef so much that I think we’ll try the pork on our next visit! Above all, when I choose a Korean BBQ restaurant, I look at the price, meat quality, portions, and atmosphere together. The dining room was spacious and very clean, so I think it would be great for get-togethers with friends, family meals, or company dinners too.
