Mangwon Tex-Mex restaurant: fajita platter and lemonade at Taco Dot

Today I was trying to figure out where to hang out with a close friend, and since she said she'd never been to Mangwon-dong before, we decided to check it out.

We heard there's a famous Mexican restaurant in Mangwon-dong, so we gave it a try. Here's my review of "Taco Dot Mangwon Market Main Branch," a Mangwon Station spot that makes you crave a beer the moment you walk in.

Taco Dot, a Mangwon-dong favorite, is a 5-minute walk from Mangwon Station Exit 2! Even from outside, the hip, colorful interior catches your eye.

Inside, it felt like stepping into a hip Tex-Mex restaurant straight out of the US — such an exotic vibe. It was fun browsing all the stylish, trendy decor pieces. That said, even on a weekday customers kept streaming in until every seat was full. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend booking ahead ❤️

Once you go inside, there's a room-like space with window seats and tables too. There's a well-organized self-service station and even a coat hanger, so it seemed like a great place to visit in winter!

Taco Dot menu: fajita platters, chimichangas and enchiladas

Taco Dot Mangwon Market Main Branch serves a variety of Mexican dishes. They have the fajita platter, great for wrapping fillings in tortillas, along with chimichanga, enchilada, taco rice, tacos, and more. Order the fajita platter and you get unlimited free refills on tortillas and sauce ❤️

I'd honestly never heard of chimichanga or enchilada, so I was curious what they'd be like — turns out chimichanga is a fried burrito with pulled pork, and enchilada is a grilled burrito where you can choose your meat. Nice to get to try some unusual dishes :)

They also had ades, bottled drinks, and beer! Since it was broad daylight, we skipped the beer and ordered a lemonade instead — but the fajita was so good with beer that I think I'll order one next time.

The two of us ordered the grilled meat fajita platter. It's the perfect size for 2–3 people, so for two adult women it was actually too much and we had to leave some behind 😭 so sad... It took about 15 minutes for the food to come out after ordering!

The grilled meat fajita platter comes loaded with grilled pork belly, pulled pork, grilled shrimp, grilled chicken, mushrooms, onions and more. The portion is generous, everything was cooked just right, and the seasoning had a nice saltiness — great to eat on its own or wrapped in a tortilla.

It comes with tortillas, 4 kinds of sauce, and cabbage coleslaw (tortilla and sauce refills are unlimited). Cilantro is served separately, and since my friend and I don't eat cilantro, we loved that it came on the side.

We spread sauce on the tortillas and piled on each type of meat haha. With so many different things loaded onto one wrap, the flavors and textures in every bite were wonderfully varied and vibrant. Every single wrap we made was delicious.

So that was our visit to "Taco Dot Mangwon Market Main Branch," a Mangwon-dong favorite. With its exotic Mexican-inspired interior and a well-put-together fajita, it was a really satisfying meal.
