Mangwon Mexican restaurant with free receipt-event fries: Taco Dot

Today I visited Taco Dot Mangwon Market Main Branch, a great spot when you want something a bit different to eat near Mangwon Market. Mexican food is especially fun because you can enjoy so many things at once, so this time I ordered the Grilled Meat Fajita Platter and tried a bit of everything.

What the Taco Dot storefront looks like from the street

Taco Dot is located near Mangwon Market, so it's a good place to stop for a meal while wandering around the market. From the entrance, it already had a different, exotic vibe compared to a typical restaurant. It's a great place to go when you're craving tacos or Mexican food in Mangwon-dong.

Inside Taco Dot: interior and seating

Stepping inside, the casual yet exotic interior caught my eye right away. The table space was divided into several zones, so it felt cozier than expected — a good spot to visit with friends or for a meal during a Mangwon Market date. There were little Mexican-restaurant-style props scattered around too, so it was fun just looking around.

Basic sauces were already set out on the table, so I could add them to my food however I liked.

What we ordered at Taco Dot and what it cost

We ordered three things this time: the Grilled Meat Fajita Platter (₩43,900), two colas at ₩2,500 each, and the Guacamole Pulled Pork Fries (via the Naver receipt review event). It's a platter where you can enjoy various meats and shrimp all at once, so it looked seriously generous the moment it hit the table.

What comes on the Grilled Meat Fajita Platter?

This is the main dish we ordered, the Grilled Meat Fajita Platter. It comes with several kinds of meat and shrimp all together, so it was great for two people to share.

The best bite: chili-tossed chicken

Of all the meats, the one I enjoyed the most was the chicken tossed in chili. The subtle chili flavor came through nicely and the chicken itself was so good that I kept reaching for more — personally, it was the most memorable item on the platter. The shrimp was really good too. Instead of being cut into small pieces, it was plump, so I could really feel that springy texture when I bit into it.

Free tortilla and sauce refills at Taco Dot

And here's the great thing about the fajita platter — if you run low on tortillas or sauce, you can keep getting refills, so you can wrap as much as you want. Combining the meat and shrimp with whichever sauce I liked and wrapping it all in a tortilla was seriously delicious. Because of that, I kept making one wrap after another and ended up way fuller than I expected.

Guacamole pulled pork fries from the Naver receipt event

And then the Guacamole Pulled Pork Fries we got through the Naver receipt review event! Honestly, since it was an event item, I didn't expect much, but I was surprised at how good it was. The fries came together with guacamole and pulled pork, so I got to enjoy several flavors at once. This is definitely something I want to order again on my next visit. Paired with a drink, it completed a really generous spread.

Is Taco Dot Mangwon Market worth it? Final verdict

Taco Dot Mangwon Market Main Branch was a great place to visit when you want to enjoy a variety of Mexican dishes at once. I especially liked the Grilled Meat Fajita Platter — wrapping the different meats and plump shrimp in tortillas with whatever sauce I liked was really fun. Among everything, the chili-tossed chicken and the shrimp were my favorites.

The tortilla and sauce refills meant we never ran short, and by the end I was genuinely full. And the Guacamole Pulled Pork Fries, which I hadn't expected much from, were so good that I plan to order them again next time.
