Soupy tteokbokki and boiled octopus at Muje, a Guri market alley bar
In short
Muje is a second-floor bar-restaurant in a market alley in Guri, Gyeonggi, at 27-6 Angol-ro 103beon-gil. At Muje the order was gukmul tteokbokki (soupy rice cakes in spicy broth) with ramen noodles added, plus munueo sukhoe (boiled octopus) dipped alternately in chojang (sweet chili-vinegar sauce) and garlic-oil sauce, a spicy-and-chewy pairing that suited drinks well. Tucked deep in the alley, Muje is still roomy and stylish inside, making it an easy pick for a group of friends or a date in Guri.

A good-atmosphere Guri bar for a Guri food spot or a Guri date

Muje, with all kinds of drinking-food menu options

How to find Muje on the second floor of Guri's market alley
Muje is a bar located at 27-6 Angol-ro 103beon-gil, 2F, Guri, Gyeonggi, tucked inside a market alley. I went looking for somewhere in Guri where I could relax and chat with a friend or on a date, and ended up here.
Since it's inside an alley, I wondered at first whether a nice-atmosphere spot could really be here, but the sign at the entrance leading up to the 2nd floor was big enough that I found it more easily than expected.

Accessibility matters more than you'd think when looking for a Guri bar, and once I confirmed the location, it wasn't hard at all.

What is the atmosphere like inside Muje?
Climbing the stairs and stepping inside, the first thing I noticed was that the space was bigger than I expected. The interior was also stylish and sharp, which felt a little surprising for a place tucked in a market alley.
The spacing between tables didn't feel cramped, and overall there was a relaxed sense of room, which made it seem like a good place to chat with a friend or spend time on a date.

These days I prefer places where you can enjoy the atmosphere along with good food, not just the food itself, and Muje delivered on that. It seemed like a nice spot for a quiet drink and conversation, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a Guri date spot too.

Soupy tteokbokki with ramen noodles added
The first thing we ordered at Muje was the spicy rice cake soup. It's good on its own, but we added instant noodles this time — and the combination of rice cake broth and noodles really is hard to mess up.
The broth had a clean, spicy kick with a bit of a sharp edge, the kind that keeps your chopsticks coming back.

The rice cakes were chewy, and the instant noodles soaking up the broth added a different texture to enjoy. It wasn't heavy or overly starchy, so it paired well as drinking food — a good order for a day when you're craving something spicy.

Boiled octopus with two sauces: chojang and garlic oil
We also ordered boiled octopus, and I liked the octopus's chewy-yet-tender texture. It's tasty dipped in the standard chojang (vinegar-chili sauce), but dipping it in the garlic-oil sauce brought out a whole different flavor.

Alternating between the tangy-spicy chojang and the savory, garlicky sauce made it feel like one dish was giving us several different flavors. Pairing spicy dishes like the rice cake soup with the boiled octopus turned out to be a good combo too.

Why Muje's wide menu is worth a second visit
Another thing I liked about Muje was how varied the menu is. The rice cake soup and boiled octopus we had this time were both satisfying, but looking through the menu, there were quite a few other dishes I'd like to try next time.
Rather than a place where you visit once, order one or two dishes, and that's it, this felt like somewhere I could pick something different on my next visit — which made me want to come back.

Thanks especially to the spacious, stylish atmosphere, it seemed like a good fit not just for gatherings with friends but also for visits with a partner. It's the kind of place you'd want to visit on a day when you want to sit back, chat comfortably, and enjoy good drinking food.
Overall, Muje's location inside the market alley ended up feeling like a fun part of the experience rather than a drawback.
The sign at the entrance up to the 2nd floor made it easy enough to find, and stepping inside, the spacious room and stylish interior greeted us — the atmosphere shifted completely.

We had the spicy, clean rice cake soup with added instant noodles, and dipped the boiled octopus alternately in chojang and garlic-oil sauce — both worked well as drinking food.
With such a varied menu ready, this is a place I'd like to try more dishes at next time! If you're looking for a Guri bar, a Guri food spot, or a Guri date spot where you can talk comfortably, Muje is worth a visit. I'm planning to try other menu items next time myself.
