Guri gimbap-style raw crab feast with self-serve ramen: Onggi

In short

Onggi Kkotgejang Main Branch is an all-you-can-eat crab restaurant in Injang-dong, Guri, Gyeonggi. Visiting with family, the writer ordered the 26,000 won per person unlimited crab refill to try both soy-marinated crab and spicy marinated crab, plus a self-serve corner with Shin Ramyeon. The soy-marinated crab was the clear favorite, refilled several times, making this a solid pick for a family meal with crab lovers.

This time I went with my sibling and family to Onggi Kkotgejang Main Branch in Injang-dong, Guri, because I was craving crab 🥰 My family loves crab, so we decided to go all out with the unlimited refill option :) We all like soy-marinated crab (ganjang gejang) more than the spicy version, so I ended up refilling the soy-marinated crab several times that day 😆

Exterior signage of Onggi Kkotgejang Main Branch visible from the main road

The restaurant was easy to spot from the main road, since the Onggi Kkotgejang sign is visible from outside :) It's near Donggureung Royal Tomb, so it's also a good spot to combine with some sightseeing before or after the meal.

Spacious restaurant interior with well-spaced tables

A spacious restaurant busy even on a weekday

We went on a weekday and it was still busy :) The place was bigger than I expected too. The tables had plenty of space, which made it comfortable for a family meal, and it seemed like a good spot for larger groups as well :) Great for family gatherings or bigger parties.

There's a self-serve ramen corner too 🥰 They had Shin Ramyeon ready to go, so it was easy to cook up a quick bowl haha

Self-serve corner with disposable gloves and wet wipes

The self-serve corner also had disposable gloves and wet wipes, not just ramen :) Nice to be able to grab what you need without asking.

Kkwabaegi, nurungji, and sweet potato chips displayed at the counter

Near the counter, they also sold simple snacks like kkwabaegi (twisted doughnuts), nurungji (scorched rice), and sweet potato chips :) A nice thing to grab one of after the meal!

The basic side dishes included kimchi, bean sprouts, flying fish roe, seaweed, and rice. It was a good lineup of simple dishes that paired well with the crab, making for a satisfying meal :)

We ordered the unlimited crab refill. It came with both soy-marinated crab and spicy marinated crab by default, and my family especially loved the soy-marinated crab 👍🏻

Putting on disposable gloves before eating the crab

We put on the disposable gloves and got ready to dig in for real 🥰

Soy-marinated crab packed with roe — a total rice thief

The soy-marinated crab was so packed with meat and roe that it looked incredibly appetizing haha. Every bite had the roe popping, and it was even better eaten together with rice 😆

Picking out the crab meat and piling it on top of rice really earns the term 'rice thief' (bapdodook) 👍🏻

How was the spicy marinated crab?

The spicy marinated crab was also nicely seasoned, and the meat was plump — really delicious :)

The spicy marinated crab was well seasoned and tasty too, but our clear favorite that day was the soy-marinated crab! It was so good we refilled it several times! Visiting with family who love crab really made us appreciate the perks of unlimited refills 🥰

How was it as a family meal?

I'd love to come back next time I'm craving soy-marinated crab 🫶🏻
