Yangpyeong bakery café with Namhan River views: Pistache by Capore
In short
Pistache by Capore is a large bakery café on a roughly 2,000-pyeong (about 6,600 sq m) site overlooking the Namhan River in Ganghwa-myeon, Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi. From the 3rd-floor river-view seats, Pistache by Capore serves Yangpyeong coffee alongside butter rice cake, walnut bread, mocha bun and condensed milk cream baguette, and the 4th-floor gallery shows the free "Dandy Mac" exhibition themed on the café's mascot poodle, Mac. Maybe it's because the weather's been so nice lately, but I've been wanting to get out and drive somewhere for fresh air instead of just staying home. Even just a short trip outside Seoul or Gyeonggi can feel like a totally different world, and one of my favorite places for that is Yangpyeong.
So this time I visited Pistache by Capore. With its gorgeous Namhan River view, cute dog, and delicious bread, it's the kind of bakery café that's perfect for healing, and I thought it'd be a great spot to visit on a day when you want to spend some relaxed time.
Where is Pistache by Capore, and what are the hours and parking?
Pistache by Capore is located at 458 Gangnam-ro, Ganghwa-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, and it's open from 10am to 8pm. Parking is available, pets are welcome, and there's a gallery worth browsing.

It's right in front of "Ginza," a katsu restaurant famous as a Yangpyeong must-eat spot, so it's convenient to swing by after a meal there.

Pistache by Capore is hard to miss with its striking, big white building. It's such a huge bakery café that even first-time visitors to Yangpyeong probably won't pass by without noticing it.
The structure is really impressive, right? With its spacious grounds of about 2,000 pyeong (roughly 6,600 square meters), it's apparently been featured as a filming location for several commercials and dramas.
Meet mascot dog Mac and the layout of Pistache by Capore
A standard poodle named Mac, who could be called the café's mascot, is a permanent resident here. The in-café gallery is currently running an exhibition called "Dandy Mac" by artist Hong Ji-yeon (홍지연), themed around this very dog, so there are cool paintings hung throughout the café space.
Pistache by Capore is largely divided into three zones: indoor seating at the coffee bar where you order, outdoor seating on the wide lawn plaza right in front, and indoor seating in the gallery building. With plenty of spacious tables, it's a kid- and pet-friendly café.
Pistache by Capore menu: breads, pizza and a kids' affogato

Pistache by Capore had a wide variety of breads too. From the basics like salt bread, financiers, and egg tarts, to the once-trendy dujjonkku (a chewy chocolate-cookie hybrid) and butter rice cake, there was so much variety that I took forever picking, haha.

I ordered four breads total: walnut bread, butter rice cake, mocha bun, and condensed milk cream baguette, but my top pick was the butter rice cake. That nutty yet chewy texture was so good.
I liked that you could switch to decaf beans or almond milk for the coffee, giving plenty of options, and the fact that they had a separate matcha menu and even a kids' affogato menu really showed how this menu stands out from a typical café.

They also have pizza, so if you didn't eat beforehand, it'd be great to pair with coffee!!

Right behind the coffee bar where you order, they also run fun one-day classes like coloring and making eco bags. Plenty here to keep kids from getting bored if you visit with them.
Yangpyeong coffee vs americano: which one was better?

For drinks, I ordered an Americano and the Yangpyeong coffee. The Yangpyeong coffee is Americano-based but topped with a chewy foam (not sweet), giving it a softer Americano experience.
Since the foam on the Yangpyeong coffee wasn't too sweet, it didn't feel like drinking an Einspänner but more like a smoother, softer Americano.
Because of this chewy foam, I'd recommend going for the Yangpyeong coffee over a plain Americano if you visit Pistache by Capore.

On the left is the Yangpyeong coffee, on the right is the Americano.
Sipping coffee while looking out the window, it felt like time would just fly by even if you didn't do anything at all.
The best Namhan River views are from the 3rd-floor seats
I sat at the 3rd floor seats with a full view of the Namhan River, and the wide-open scenery was so lovely to look at.

Enjoying delicious bread and coffee at Pistache by Capore while taking in the scenery and chatting, an hour flew by before I knew it. Before heading home, I also checked out the gallery space on the 4th floor.

It featured witty paintings that put the dog Mac into scenes inspired by Van Gogh's works.

It's not easy to find a café where you can have a cup of coffee and see an exhibition for free too, so Pistache by Capore, where you can enjoy coffee, bread, art, and the Namhan River all at once, felt like hitting four birds with one stone, haha.
With weather this nice these days, the outdoor space looks great to use too, so on a warm day, sitting outside with coffee instead of indoors sounds lovely. The view from the 4th floor outdoor space was the absolute best!
