Guwol-dong sashimi restaurant with unlimited ramen refills: Veteran
In short
Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch is a raw fish restaurant in the Guwol-dong Rodeo area of Namdong, Incheon, where the fish is cut to order. Three friends coming from a retirement ceremony at Landers Field ordered flounder and rockfish sashimi for two plus grilled shrimp, and the self-bar's unlimited ramen noodles and kimchi pancake meant they still fried up two pancakes on a full stomach. With lunch specials from 7,000 to 13,900 won, Veteran General Fish Market is a great-value place for a full sashimi spread.

A Guwol-dong fish restaurant where you can enjoy everything from fresh sashimi to seasonal shrimp, generously

Why we picked this Guwol-dong Rodeo sashimi spot after Landers Field
Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch is a raw fish restaurant in the Guwol-dong Rodeo area. My friends and I went to watch player Kim Seong-hyeon's retirement ceremony at Landers Field today~ After the game we looked for somewhere to have dinner and headed to Veteran, located in Guwol-dong Rodeo. The location was great and the sign stood out, so we found it without getting lost!

Staff prepare the fish fresh from the tank the moment you order. Sometimes when you pass by a fish restaurant there's a strong fishy smell, but Veteran had absolutely none of that.

Is Veteran General Fish Market good for groups? Seating and terrace
Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch's interior was way bigger than I expected, so it seemed fine for group gatherings too. There were a lot of baseball fans and regular customers, so I wondered if there'd be a wait, but the inside was surprisingly spacious~ The tables weren't cramped and the seating felt roomy, so it looked good for visiting with a larger group too.
Especially for company dinners or friend gatherings where several people show up, a spacious restaurant matters more than you'd think! When we visited, there really were all kinds of guests, from families to groups of friends.
And beyond the main hall, if you go further in there's a space with an outdoor-tent feel, plus terrace tables that would have great vibes on a nice day~!
Also, restrooms matter especially for women. It's not exactly inside, but you just open one door and the restroom is right there (basically as good as being inside).

What three of us ordered: flounder and rockfish for two, plus grilled shrimp
You order conveniently from the kiosk at the table. There were 3 of us, so we ordered flounder+rockfish for two and grilled shrimp!

Unlimited ramen noodles and kimchi pancake at the self-bar
On both sides of the restaurant there's a self-bar where you can refill corn mayo, wrap vegetables, white kimchi and more. And the ramen noodles here are unlimited refill, so I recommend definitely adding them when you have the spicy fish stew!
But that's not all! The kimchi pancake is also unlimited refill..! Not just one, but un.lim.i.ted!! Even though we were already full, it was so good we ended up frying up two more haha.

A sashimi restaurant that serves salted pollock roe as a free side
The basic side dishes were seaweed soup, grilled saury, cabbage salad, salted pollock roe, white kimchi, and seaweed — this is the first fish restaurant I've seen serve salted pollock roe as a standard side!
This is the flounder+rockfish for two, and the portion wasn't small at all! Since they prepped it right after ordering, the sashimi felt fresh, and the texture was very chewy and springy. And best of all, the price is so nice it makes everything taste even better~ magic!

Sashimi with pollock roe! I thought it wouldn't go together but I was surprised how well it did. I'd never even thought to try this combo before?! Maybe the owner really knows food.
Grilling the raw shrimp yourself at the table
While we were eating sashimi, out came the shrimp! It's served raw and you grill it yourself at the table. Even when I eat sushi I go all in on shrimp... I even wait for fall just to eat shrimp... why is it so good?!

How much are the lunch specials? 7,000 to 13,900 won
It's great for dinner, but there's also a separate lunch special menu, so it'd be great to come for a meal at lunchtime too. In an era of high prices like this, even a single meal out feels daunting. But being able to eat a hearty meal for ₩7,000–₩13,900... isn't that just incredibly cheap?!
It's a place where you can enjoy fresh, good-quality food at a reasonable price, so the value for money was satisfying. The menu is packed with everything from sashimi to sushi, fried dishes, and stews, so it was nice to have plenty of variety to choose from!
