Namyangju Korean BBQ restaurant with bibim naengmyeon: Chodaebak
In short
Chodaebak Naengsam Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Pyeongnae-dong, Namyangju, Gyeonggi. We filled up on SET 1, rice, and ₩7,000 bibim naengmyeon for two, with a generous spread of sides in a spacious, spotless dining room. Verdict: the grilled frozen pork belly and minari combo was a total jackpot, haha.

Where is Chodaebak Naengsam Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Branch?

Chodaebak Naengsam Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Branch is on the Shwigo Street area in Pyeongnae-dong! It’s one of Pyeongnae-dong’s hot spots~~ There are lots of restaurants and bars around here, so it’s great for a first stop or a second round, haha.

Please check the opening hours before visiting!
A spacious, comfortable dining room

The interior was really big and spacious. When you think of a typical meat restaurant, you imagine noise, bad air, and that greasy feeling from the meat fat—but Chodaebak Naengsam in Pyeongnae was different. The moment we walked in, it felt comfortable and clean 🩵 There wasn’t a trace of grease on the tables, and they must clean so diligently because even the floor was sparkling ✨️ There are lots of tables, but they’re well spaced, so you can eat comfortably without worrying about the next table. It’s perfect for a Namyangju group dinner or family meal, too.

What is at the self-service bar?
The self-service bar has everything: gochujang (Korean red chili paste), ssamjang (seasoned soybean dipping paste), salt, soybean powder, curry powder, vegetables including lettuce, perilla leaves, garlic, and chili peppers, plus wet wipes, tissues, and all kinds of side dishes. Just grab more of anything you need, haha.
Frozen pork belly, flower pork neck, and sides

Premium Korean frozen pork belly, flower pork neck, and flower frozen pork belly were the main dishes. Along with the meat, there were lots of sides that go beautifully with it, so you can keep eating without getting tired of it 🫶🫶 Looking at the prices, it’s an absolute value jackpot too, right? 👏👏 I highly recommend it as a great-value Namyangju restaurant.
Our SET 1 and bibim naengmyeon order

We ordered SET 1 with two servings of frozen pork belly, one serving of flower pork neck, one bowl of rice, and one bowl of bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles). The two of us ate until we were absolutely stuffed 🐽🩷

The basic side-dish lineup
They bring vegetables—lettuce, perilla leaves, garlic, and chili peppers—along with seasoned bracken fern, seasoned bean sprouts, napa cabbage kimchi, pink sausage, cheese, raw egg in soy sauce, and various sauces. I was genuinely shocked by this lineup of sides. These days, some meat restaurants don’t even serve the leafy wraps you usually get with grilled meat, but here they gave us both lettuce and perilla leaves… and even three kinds of sides you can grill with the meat. They were delicious even ordered with rice as vegetable side dishes, haha. There were several sauces beyond ssamjang, and even ham and cheese ❤️ How did they put together nothing but my favorite things? It’s incredible.

Frozen pork belly and flower pork neck grilled with minari
Beautifully colored, bright-pink frozen pork belly. Put it on the hot grill with minari (Korean water celery) and let it sizzle—it’s seriously delicious 🔥 The meat quality is good and it’s great value, so if you’re looking for excellent samgyeopsal in Pyeongnae-Hopyeong, you have to try Chodaebak Naengsam. You won’t regret it!! I could see why it’s famous as a Pyeongnae meat restaurant. It would have been perfect with soju or somaek (soju-and-beer mix), but we drove, so that was a shame ㅠㅠ

Steamed egg included with the set
Fluffy, soft, yellow gyeran-jjim (steamed egg) 💛 I didn’t even order it separately, but it comes with the set >_< Such an amazing deal. It was seasoned just right, and when you take a big spoonful while it’s warm, your mouth fills with softness 🥰🥰

How was the ₩7,000 bibim naengmyeon?
You can’t leave out naengmyeon when you’re eating meat! Even when I go out somewhere and grill meat, I always cook bibim noodles too, haha. I prefer bibim naengmyeon to mul naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth), so I ordered it. It was priced like a small after-meal noodle dish, but the portion was enormous—I was so surprised 🙊🙊 These days, a bowl of naengmyeon costs over ₩10,000, so ₩7,000 for this much is such a deal ❤️
The icy, refreshing broth, chewy and springy noodles, sweet-tangy red sauce, cute little quail eggs, crunchy pickled radish, and cucumber. The harmony of it all was art, haha. And when you add a slice of meat, it’s honestly heaven. If you’re looking for a meat restaurant in Pyeongnae-dong, Chodaebak Naengsam is absolutely the one~~
