A hearty unlimited eel meal in Allak-dong
If you love eel in Busan, you may have heard of Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel, Busan Dongnae Branch (송림복장어 민물장어 무한리필 부산동래점). I went there!
This time, we ordered the unlimited eel option for two and enjoyed as much eel as we wanted. When you want eel and want to really do it properly, the portion can sometimes feel a little lacking—but with unlimited refills, there was no need to worry about that. We could eat to our hearts’ content..!
A local favorite location in Allak-dong
Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel, a popular Allak-dong restaurant, is located in Allak-dong, so it has lots of regular local customers from Myeongjang-dong and Allak-dong.
Inside Songnim Bok Jangeo, Busan Dongnae Branch

The place I visited this time was Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel, Busan Dongnae Branch! Even the name makes it sound seriously dedicated to eel, so anyone who likes eel can’t help being intrigued. (That’s me.. ba-dum-tss.) Eel is also widely sought out as a nourishing food, so it seems like a good choice for a family meal out or a day when you want something hearty.

There were two of us, so we chose the unlimited option for two! The unlimited dining time is capped at two hours, but we got full before then, so you can still have a delicious meal without using every minute!

Along with fresh freshwater eel, pork belly and duck neck meat are prepared at the self-service bar. At some unlimited restaurants, you have to ask the staff to bring more, but Songnim Bok Jangeo has everything set out at the self-service bar, so you can comfortably take what you want without asking!
Unlimited eel prices

Here is the menu at Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel, a popular eel spot in Dongnae, Busan. Unlimited adult dining was ₩29,900 x 2, plus a ₩3,000 table setting fee x 2. For a little over ₩30,000 per person, this is a place where you can eat an absolutely filling amount of grilled freshwater eel..!
A meal of grilled eel and duck neck meat

After we ordered and sat down, they even gave us bokbunja-ju (Korean black raspberry wine) on the house. Grilled eel with bokbunja, too.. This is truly a nourishing Allak-dong spot in Dongnae.

Once you order the unlimited option for two, they give you a plate of freshwater eel, duck neck meat, and pork belly! The baek-kimchi (mild white kimchi) that came with it was also delicious grilled alongside everything else.

There were two kinds of sauce for the grilled eel—and three including salt—so it was fun trying different combinations.

Freshwater eel with as many refills as you want
Today’s main event was unlimited eel for two! If you visit with fellow eel lovers, the advantage of unlimited refills is definitely being able to eat as much as you want. Watching the eel turn golden on the grill, the nutty aroma kept making me reach for my chopsticks. Cooked just right, it had a golden exterior and a soft texture inside, which was delicious. Rather than stopping after a piece or two, you can have more whenever you run low, so I think eel lovers in particular would be very satisfied. We leisurely grilled eel together and it felt like we had a proper eel mukbang.

Eel is delicious on its own, but it has another charm when you eat it in a ssam (leaf wrap), right? Add a piece of eel with wrap vegetables and side dishes, and it stays clean and not too rich. Switching up how we ate it along the way meant we could keep eating eel without getting tired of it. If you love eel, I think it would be nice to try all kinds of combinations that you personally like.

Songnim Bok Jangeo, a grilled-eel spot in Allak-dong, Busan, had fantastic grilled eel, but the duck neck meat was incredibly appealing too ...?!?! I ate a ton of duck as well, not just eel. The duck was already seasoned with salt and pepper, so it was delicious simply grilled and eaten without any extra sauce.

If you are wondering what to eat in Allak-dong and looking for a hearty meal, eel is a good option. Eel is especially nice for several people to grill and eat together, making it well suited to a family outing or a meal with friends. This time, the unlimited option was the most satisfying part because we could eat without worrying about the quantity. If you are looking for a good restaurant in Allak-dong and usually enjoy eel, I think it is worth a visit.

Grilling the baek-kimchi with it has another charm, too! Well-known places for travelers are great, but after living in Busan for a long time and looking for good restaurants, places like this where you can have a hearty neighborhood meal also have their appeal. A dish like eel, which does not tend to divide opinions too strongly, is especially good to visit with family or people you know. If you are looking for a local Busan restaurant and want eel around Allak-dong or Dongnae-gu, it may be worth checking out.
