A neat exterior and parking

Neat exterior of Boksan Haejang Nam-gu Sinjeong Branch

The exterior already looks so neat, right? ✨ There is parking right in front of the restaurant too! 🚗 The spaces are not especially plentiful, though, so there may not be one if you visit at a busy time—just something to keep in mind~

A wood-toned atmosphere unlike a typical hangover-soup restaurant

The inside is decorated in wood tones too, so it is really neat and pretty. If nobody told you it was a haejangguk (hangover soup) restaurant, it would feel like a stylish new Korean restaurant that would be lovely for a date!

Even the restroom and storage-area side had pretty interior details. It felt like they had paid attention to every corner~ Such a nice vibe~ After pondering the menu for quite a while, we ordered one haejang kalguksu and one yukhoe bibimbap!

The banchan (Korean side dishes) to eat alongside were served neatly too. There was also a nice variety of seasonings ready to add if you wanted to adjust the flavor of the soup!

Springy, fresh yukhoe bibimbap

First, for the yukhoe bibimbap, I cracked the egg yolk and mixed it all up~ The yukhoe (seasoned raw beef) was so springy and fresh! It was nutty, with seasoning that was exactly right—just a truly delicious yukhoe bibimbap 😋 It also came with a bowl of spicy soup, perfect for slurping alongside!

Haejang kalguksu with both noodles and rice

Next, I was torn between haejangguk and haejang kalguksu, but I wanted noodles, so I ordered the haejang kalguksu! But it did not come with just kalguksu (knife-cut noodles)—there was rice too! Being able to enjoy both noodles and rice made it feel even more generous!! And there was an absolutely heaping amount of noodles. Such amazing value...

Haejang kalguksu with meat and noodles

I slurped up the meat and noodles together~ Adding noodles can sometimes make a broth taste bland, but the seasoning here was spot on. The beef-broth flavor was so good, and it was spicy with just the right amount of heat, so it went down easily without feeling overwhelming. And the more I ate, the more meat kept appearing!! So good 👍🏻

After finishing the noodles, I properly mixed in the rice at the end too. Noodles and rice together really felt like a complete meal! Ahh... I am so full 🐷

Restaurant banner message after the meal

The banner wording is funny too, haha. This really does seem like a place that does not mess around with its food... because it was genuinely so generous and delicious!

Not only for hangovers, but for a hearty lunch too

I know many people will be looking for somewhere to recover after drinking, but it is also just right for anyone seeking a delicious Korean lunch~ The atmosphere was neat and pleasant, and the food was tasty too, so it made for a filling, feel-good meal right from the start of the trip.
