Cream pasta and omurice at Palette Hannam, a Daegu restaurant

A pastel-toned Western dining spot in Dongseong-ro

There isn't a dedicated parking lot, so I used the nearby 2.28 Public Parking Lot! It was convenient since it was just a 3-minute walk away :) From Jungangno Station, it takes about 5–10 minutes on foot, and it wasn't hard to find. The bright, clean white exterior glowing through the windows immediately caught my eye! Located on the second floor, it overlooks the Dongseong-ro streets through its floor-to-ceiling windows, and the atmosphere was so pretty.

Once inside, the light, soft pastel colors were even prettier than they had looked from outside✨ White walls, marble tables, and colorful pink and sky-blue pastel chairs made it feel like stepping into a lovely studio! The tables were nicely spaced, so it felt airy and comfortable, and I also loved that each table had a tablet ordering system for browsing the menu and ordering with ease.

After ordering, we chatted for a little while before the signature Palette Pasta and Palette Omurice arrived with crisp pickles, filling the table. The elegant antique-patterned dishes and white plates on the marble table made the spread a joy just to look at💕

Rich Palette Pasta mixed with egg yolk

I tried Palette Pasta, Palette Hannam's calling card and a signature pasta dish in Dongseong-ro. On one side of the plate were beautifully twirled pasta strands piled with Grana Padano cheese; on the other, a bouncy egg yolk sat prettily in the center alongside a reddish house spice blend.

I popped the yolk, mixed it into the thick cream sauce and red pepper seasoning, then took a bite. The rich, savory cheese flavor coated my mouth, while the gentle heat of the red seasoning balanced what could otherwise have been an overly rich cream pasta perfectly. Maybe because the noodles were as thin as somyeon (thin wheat noodles), the sauce clung to them beautifully. It was the kind of dish that makes you scrape up every last spoonful of sauce!

Palette Omurice with a fluffy soft-cooked egg

Next came Palette Omurice, with its cute, round yellow egg omelet gently placed over rice. As I smoothly cut down the middle of the omelet with a knife, the moist, fluffy soft-cooked egg unfurled to both sides like a blanket☺️ A little soft egg and demi-glace sauce over the well-fried rice gave it a melt-in-your-mouth texture, and the more I ate, the more savory and appealing it became. The pasta and omurice were such a perfect match😋

Palette Hannam Daegu Dongseong-ro Branch brought together everything from romantic, stylish interiors to distinctive dishes that pleased both the eyes and the palate. With the unforgettable rich, gently spicy, savory Palette Pasta and omurice featuring wonderfully fluffy soft-cooked egg, I highly recommend it for a date or a cheerful gathering with friends :)
