My husband and I took our 17-month-old baby to Shinsegae Premium Outlets in Gijang, Busan, on a weekend, planning to shop and grab a bite. Shopping always makes you hungry fast, so this time we headed to a European-style restaurant that's supposedly great for visiting with a baby and gets rave reviews on taste too — Bueokgan Restaurant. How to find Bueokgan inside the Gijang outlet
If you drive in through the entrance, Bueokgan is on the left, at the very back of NORTH 1st floor.
It's right inside the escalator in front of the UGG store, so it's really easy to find. On the right there's a WINE shop and a SYSTEM store in the same building, which makes it a great stop before or after shopping.
The exterior alone gives off a calm, elegant European vibe, like a little rest stop inside the outlet. The spacious parking and pleasant interior made it really convenient to visit by car too.🙌🏻
Can you go with a 17-month-old? YES Kids Zone, baby chair and tableware
Bueokgan Restaurant is a YES Kids Zone, and staff had a sanitized baby chair and baby dishes ready before we even asked. When you have a baby, eating out always starts with checking whether a place is no-kids-zone, or whether they have baby chairs and dishes, right? Bueokgan being a genuinely welcoming YES Kids Zone put my mind at ease.
As soon as we sat down, they brought out a neatly sanitized baby chair and baby dishes🤍 Maybe because most of their customers are families in their 30s and 40s, the staff seemed genuinely comfortable and kind with our baby. I now understand why there were so many reviews saying 'my kid actually eats well at Bueokgan.' If you're a parent who always struggles to feed your child, this is one place you can actually relax. I was touched by how warmly they told us to just ask if we needed anything🤍
The three dishes our family of three ordered
This time my husband and I ordered three dishes to share as a family of three: arugula prosciutto pizza, shrimp anchovy pasta, and basil pesto cream pasta.
Arugula prosciutto pizza
Piled high with fresh arugula, this pizza balances salty prosciutto and cheese beautifully. It looked as sleek and stylish as it tasted. Not overly bold, with the fresh flavor of the ingredients really shining through — a dish I kept reaching for.
Shrimp anchovy pasta
The cleanness of an oil pasta, the umami of anchovy, and plump shrimp came together really charmingly.
Not too greasy, salty and nutty at once — my husband and I both scraped the plate clean.
Basil pesto cream pasta, shared with the baby
Rich, fragrant basil pesto meeting the cream sauce made for the ultimate in smoothness.
The thick, nutty cream sauce was great to share with our 17-month-old too, and the basil aroma filling the mouth was just wonderful.
Our little chick seemed to love it and ate a ton 😖

For reference, the restaurant's signature steady sellers include napa cabbage Caesar salad, truffle gnocchi, kung pao pilaf, jambon pizza, and Bueokgan steak, so I definitely want to try more next time!
