Jambon-beurre and grain salad at Ilgwang brunch café Mandali To Go
In short
Mandali To Go Ilgwang Branch is a two-floor brunch café and bakery on Ilgwang-ro in Gijang-gun, Busan. Arriving early on a weekday with a friend and waiting about 20 minutes, we ordered the arugula jambon-beurre sandwich at 12,000 won, the mushroom confit grain salad at 15,000 won, two kinds of ciabatta and americanos, then ate by the second-floor window. The sandwich tasted clean and fresh and the grains made the salad filling, so Mandali To Go is a place worth returning to whenever brunch in Ilgwang comes to mind.

The weather's been so nice lately, and I wanted to eat something good and chat with a friend, so we headed out to Ilgwang in Gijang, Busan.
What kind of place is Mandali To Go Ilgwang Branch in Gijang?
This time we visited Mandali To Go Ilgwang Branch. It's a brunch café and bakery with everything from sandwiches to ciabatta. Since Ilgwang is close to the beach, it's great to grab a bite and then stop by a café too, right?

Whoa! Even on a weekday early in the morning, there was already a wait~ We waited about 20 minutes, enjoying the shop's atmosphere and browsing the bakery in the meantime.

Such cute little knick-knacks, so charming, right?

Have you ever seen a café where you can buy fresh flowers?
The smell of freshly baked bread put me in such a good mood, haha. The bakery selection is huge too.

Lots of variety in baked breads and cookies too, and the prices are reasonable.

You can also buy jams, salts, pasta ingredients, and more.
Mandali To Go menu and what we ordered
The menu at Mandali To Go Ilgwang Branch is varied — pasta, sandwiches, salads, drinks. You order on the 1st floor and enjoy it on the 2nd floor.

So many menu options~ pasta, sandwiches, salads, drinks, and more.

We looked over the menu board for a long while and picked out a few things. Today's order: rucola jambon-beurre sandwich at ₩12,000, mushroom confit grain salad at ₩15,000, and for my bread-loving friend, whole wheat levain nurungji (scorched rice) ciabatta at ₩4,300 and green black olive ciabatta at ₩3,100! Plus two americanos at ₩5,000 each — we ordered generously.

Second-floor seating and the group room at Mandali To Go
You order downstairs and then head up to enjoy your food comfortably on the 2nd floor! The 2nd floor has a cozy vibe with about 10 tables, and the diners there all looked so happy.
There's also a group room like this for 3 to 10 people, which would be great for small gatherings.

Such cozy, comfortable-looking spaces!

Fresh flowers on every table! We took a seat by the window on the 2nd floor, already excited to dig into brunch!
What the brunch spread looks like

Finally, the food we ordered! Somehow having a full table just makes you feel good, you know? And every dish looked so pretty with its colors, right?

With the salad, sandwich, ciabatta, and coffee all laid out together, it made for quite an impressive spread. My friend and I kept saying 'we really picked well today!' while snapping photos before eating. A warm americano on the side rounded out the flavors of the bread and sandwich nicely.
Arugula jambon-beurre sandwich: how it tastes

One of the dishes I was most looking forward to was the rucola jambon-beurre sandwich!

The clean, salty flavor of the jambon paired with the fresh brightness of the rucola (arugula) made for a really great combination. Best of all, the rucola kept the overall flavor from feeling too heavy.

We shared the softly fried sweet potato that came with it too, and it was so good we just kept saying 'wow' over and over.
Mushroom confit grain salad with ciabatta

Next up, a slightly lighter dish — the mushroom confit grain salad!

Rather than just a pile of greens, it came with grains and mushrooms to enjoy together, which made it feel quite filling as a meal.

Especially when you order several brunch dishes, pairing the salad with the sandwich lets you enjoy contrasting flavors, which I loved.

And here are the breads my bread-loving friend insisted we absolutely had to try~

Whole wheat levain nurungji (scorched rice) ciabatta!

Green black olive ciabatta! The olive bread especially had a subtle saltiness that kept us reaching for more. In the end, even though we said we'd only have a little, we cleaned it all up! Haha.
Verdict: is Mandali To Go worth it for brunch in Ilgwang?

Mandali To Go Ilgwang Branch, the Gijang brunch café I visited with my friend! Enjoying everything from sandwich to salad, ciabatta, and coffee felt like a really satisfying brunch meal.
The rucola jambon-beurre sandwich was clean and refreshing, while the mushroom confit grain salad was a great option when you want something lighter yet hearty for brunch.
We ate well, chatted a ton, and had a proper healing time. If you're looking for brunch in Ilgwang, I'd definitely recommend Mandali To Go Ilgwang Branch! Be sure to keep it in mind 😊
