In short

Riverside is a spacious pasta and risotto restaurant on the Ilgwang beachfront in Gijang, Busan. Can you bring a stroller into Riverside in Ilgwang, Gijang?

Riverside is a pasta and risotto restaurant right on the beachfront at 1F, 582-44 Ilgwang-ro, Ilgwang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan, South Korea. It's open 10:30–20:30, with a weekday break time from 15:00 to 16:00, and there's a large parking lot.

I come to Riverside in Ilgwang pretty regularly. The parking lot is big and the inside is spacious too, so it's great to visit with a baby. I've been here with my first kid before, and this time I brought my second — the space is roomy enough that a stroller fits in easily, which makes it so much easier with a baby. If you'd rather sit than keep the stroller, they also have baby chairs.

Spacious dining hall inside Riverside in Ilgwang, Gijang

I visited on a beautiful day and the view was really pretty. There's ocean right in front, so sitting by the window meant we got to eat with an ocean view. The weather was so nice that after eating, I went down to the beach with my baby and husband to look around before heading home.

Riverside's menu and what we ordered

Riverside's signature dishes are steak, salad, pasta, risotto, and pizza. I mainly stick to pasta, risotto, and pizza.

There are dishes I order every single time I come, so I got them again after a while. Abalone risotto and rose pasta, plus ice cream and brownie for dessert. Since you can wrap up dessert and coffee here after the meal too, I often come here when I have plans with the baby.

What I like most is the spacious seating and the view. Definitely visit when the weather's nice ✨️

Four baby chairs, seat spacing and stroller space at Riverside

Riverside had four baby chairs. There was another family with a baby at the next table too. Once my second is old enough to sit in one, I'll get to eat sitting together with both kids. For now I'm still carrying the stroller into the restaurant haha

The spacing between tables is just right too. I sat at the very end table, which let me keep the stroller behind us. With a baby, there are always two things I check before going to a restaurant — can the stroller get in, and are there baby chairs — and Riverside checked both boxes.

Freshly baked bread before the meal

Pre-meal bread and sauce came out. It was warm and freshly baked, so genuinely delicious. If my first kid had been there, she'd have kept asking for more. Crispy and just right. The staff were super kind too, telling us to just ask if we wanted more.

Abalone risotto, rose pasta, and pickled radish — pretty much our standard order every time we come.

Riverside's rose pasta: dried noodles or fresh noodles?

A can't-fail rose pasta. If I had to pick just one dish, I'd usually go with the rose pasta — it's delicious every time, and I end up finishing all the sauce.

Shrimp and shiitake mushroom in the rose pasta

There are two noodle options: dried noodle or fresh noodle. I've tried both, and dried noodle suits my taste better — I'm one of those people who likes a familiar taste. The sauce is delicious and mixed really well with the noodles. The seafood includes big and small shrimp, and there's a pretty strong shiitake mushroom aroma left in it.

Abalone risotto, easy to share with a baby

Abalone risotto. There are huge chunks of abalone on top of the risotto. It has a nice chewy bite to it.

Creamy abalone risotto sprinkled with parsley

Yum, it's got parsley sprinkled on top too, which is nice. If my first kid had been with us, she'd have eaten it right up. If you ask me for a Riverside dish to eat with a baby, I'd say abalone risotto! My baby loves abalone and also loves creamy risotto, so it's perfect.

Warm brownie with vanilla ice cream for dessert

It felt like a waste to head straight home after the meal, so we ordered dessert too — brownie and vanilla ice cream.

Brownie and vanilla ice cream dessert

The brownie comes out still warm, and one bite in, I was like, wow — this pairs so well with the ice cream, glad we ordered it. Even without the ice cream, it'd be just as good with coffee. The chocolate combo is fantastic...

Vanilla ice cream topped with granola

There's a bit of granola on top of the ice cream too, which adds some crunch and makes it extra good. If you're looking for a pasta place in Gijang, keep this one in mind 💗
