Dong, Daegu café with window views and desserts: Hands Coffee
In short
Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is a large café on a hill in Dong-gu, Daegu, with wide windows, a rooftop, and dedicated parking. I had an iced long black, a smoothie, ice cream, and Basque cheesecake; the lightly acidic coffee with a subtle chocolate finish suited me, though window seats filled as soon as they opened up.

On a weekend afternoon, I had drinks and desserts at Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch. I usually prefer coffee with little or no acidity, and the long black I had that day was nutty with a subtle chocolate aroma at the finish, which suited my taste.

Where is it, and are parking and getting between floors convenient?
After passing the roundabout in the center of Dongchon Resort, I went uphill and saw the red-brick building. Its elevated position gave it an open view over the surrounding area.

The café extends from the second through fourth floors and up to the rooftop, and its dedicated parking lot was spacious. Along with the stairs, there was a café-only elevator, and I saw many families visiting.

The address is 5-6 Hyodong-ro 6-gil, Dong-gu, Daegu. At the time of the original post, hours were listed as 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily, open year-round.
What were the interior and window seats like?
The antique-style interior felt cozy. I wanted to sit by the wide windows overlooking the view, but whenever a seat opened up, another guest quickly took it.

How much were the drinks and desserts I ordered?
I ordered two drinks and two desserts that day. These are the prices recorded in the original post.
- Iced long black: ₩5,000
- Blueberry ice cream: ₩6,800
- White sangria smoothie: ₩6,500
- House-made Basque cheesecake: ₩6,500

Was the white sangria smoothie very tart?
I was in the mood for a refreshing drink, so I chose the white sangria smoothie. At the time of my visit, it was introduced as Hands Coffee's 20th-anniversary summer seasonal menu.

This smoothie has a green-grape base with pear and lemon, topped with sliced lemon and peppermint leaves. It was finely blended and smooth to drink; the tartness was balanced by sweetness, so it did not feel overwhelming.

What did the blueberry ice cream taste like?
This menu item was soft ice cream made with organic Sangha Farm milk, topped with blueberry jam and frozen blueberries. The milk flavor came through strongly, and the texture was soft and creamy.

Is the long black suitable if you prefer low-acidity coffee?
The iced long black had low acidity and a nutty aroma. It left a subtle chocolate note without a burnt taste, with body but a clean finish. It suited my taste because I do not enjoy strongly acidic coffee.

Did the Basque cheesecake go well with coffee?
The house-made Basque cheesecake had a rich cream-cheese flavor. Its soft, moist texture was gently sweet and nutty, making it a good match for the iced long black.

Is brunch available too?
At the time of my visit, the Dongchon Resort Branch had a double-tray brunch set sold only at this branch, with pasta, salad, and jambon-beurre. I only had drinks and desserts this time, but I would like to return for brunch when I have more time.
