Gwacheon duck restaurant couple set with special sauce: Deo Chadol
In short
Deo Chadol is a duck restaurant near Seonbawi Station in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi. I tried the couple set with duck chadol-gui, spicy duck, and self-fried rice, and it was more than two people could finish. Verdict: a generous, tasty choice for a date-night dinner or group meal.

Today, I’d like to introduce Deo Chadol, a popular restaurant in Gwacheon that has been featured on TV many times. It has appeared on SBS, KBS, and more—and most recently, actor Ryu Seung-ryong named it a recommended restaurant on KBS’s Baedal Wassuda. Let’s get started with Gwacheon’s Deo Chadol!

From the entrance all the way inside, there were so many photos from TV appearances and autographs from celebrities. With this many celebrities saying it was delicious, I was secretly getting excited haha.

The couple set with duck chadol-gui and fresh spicy duck
I was deciding what to order when I saw tips for enjoying duck chadol-gui and fresh spicy duck. Since the couple set came with all of it, I ordered Deo Chadol’s couple set.

The restaurant was spacious, with large windows along the window side and high ceilings, so I loved how open and pleasant it felt. There was also a separate, large private room, which looked ideal for a private family gathering or company dinner.

There’s also the fun of spotting cute ducks all around the restaurant lol.
It’s okay, duck doesn’t make you gain weight!
As a little extra bit of information, duck is said to be an alkaline food that can help improve cholesterol levels and circulation, and support the management of arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure, and vascular health. At Gwacheon duck restaurant Deo Chadol, it’s duck with healthy fat that you can enjoy without worrying about your blood vessels.

If you need more vegetables, side dishes, sauces, or anything else, there’s a self-service bar where you can easily take as much as you want!

Quick-cooking duck chadol-gui and special sauce
First up was the duck chadol-gui. Its round shape looked like regular pork or beef chadol-gui, so for a second I thought, “Huh? Is this beef chadol-gui?” But I asked, and it really was duck chadol-gui lol.
Just put it on the grill and, without even needing to spread it out nicely, it opens up on its own haha.

It cooked beautifully in no time without grilling it for long, and looked soooo appetizing!!!
There’s a special sauce you can only have at Deo Chadol, and dipping it in there is insanely good!!

It was delicious wrapped with minari (water dropwort) grilled alongside it, and it was also so good with the seasoned greens among the basic side dishesㅠㅠㅠ Personally, the absolute best was dipping it in the salt sauce made with Himalayan salt and pepper!!
They also serve doenjang-jjigae (soybean-paste stew) as a basic side. This clear version, filled evenly with tofu, zucchini, onion, and more, was delicious too ^^
Thick-cut spicy duck and self-fried rice
After finishing the duck chadol-gui, the spicy duck arrived. It tastes a bit like spicy pork—the guys’ favorite feed—but it’s duck rather than pork, so it’s a great way to enjoy it while looking after your vascular health.

The duck was thick-cut, and with the rice cakes, it was filling enough to eat without ordering a separate bowl of rice ^^
I put tofu from the doenjang stew and garlic on lettuce, added a big piece of duck, and wrapped it up. My mouth was soooo happy lol.

Lastly came the self-fried rice.
I was originally going to fry it after finishing all the spicy duck, but I pushed the spicy duck to the sides, spread the fried rice right in the middle, and ate it together with the duck hehe.

For two people, the couple set was beyond adequately filling—we were so stuffed that we couldn’t finish it all lol. Such a generous couple set.

They also sell Dippin’ Dots ice cream beside the counter for ₩4,000, so we finished with dessert ice creeeeam~!

Deo Chadol, a popular Gwacheon restaurant near Seonbawi Station, is a duck specialty restaurant said to serve duck high in unsaturated fatty acids and low in fat but high in protein. It’s very close to Seoul and easy to reach by public transit, so it was convenient even for those of us getting around on foot haha.
