Actor Park Jun-seo is apparently the owner of Deo Chadol in Gwacheon!? Maybe that is why there were so many handwritten celebrity autographs and photos from TV appearances on the walls! If you are lucky, you might spot a celebrity at this Gwacheon restaurant haha.

Generous seasoned duck with house-made sauces

The assortment of house-made sauces and vegetable wraps, along with the clean side dishes that were not overly strong and tasted homemade, made a great combination with the duck.

Can you see that sauce..? It is the kind of seasoning that gets your appetite going! The price felt reasonable, but the portion was more generous than expected—almost like it was not just for three people! The chewy wheat rice cakes mixed in were so delicious tooღ.

Tender duck without any gaminess, in a pleasantly spicy sauce

Duck restaurants are always a battle against that gamey smell, but this duck was tender and had none of it. With fresh vegetables alongside, it was clean and never tiring, so I totally recognize it as a Gwacheon duck spot near Seonbawi Station that works for everyone from children to older adults—perfect for family meals, gatherings, and company dinners without much chance of divided opinions👏.

The sauce was not overly intense or heavy either; it was pleasantly spicy with lots of savory depth, which I loved. Stir-frying over high heat can make meat dry or burn the sauce, but here the longer it cooked, the more the rich duck fat and house spicy sauce came together. Even people who cannot handle much heat should be fine if they pair it with the soft steamed egg or wrap vegetables from the self-serve bar, so I do not think it would be polarizing!

The full course: vegetable wraps and fried rice

You can never skip vegetable wraps with seasoned stir-fried duck..! The clean, slightly bitter wraps with chili, garlic, and ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) are the kind of combination that makes drinks go down very easily, so be warned🙏.
