I went to a hair salon in Gwacheon to dye my hair! Maybe because it had recently relocated, the salon was so clean! I wanted to tidy up my hair color, so while looking into hair salons in Gwacheon, I visited One & Only Hair Gwacheon Government Complex Station (원앤온리헤어 과천청사역점).

When you visit a hair salon for the first time, the location matters, but you also quietly worry about the interior atmosphere and consultation process, right? The whole place felt clean and comfortable when I walked in, so I could leave my hair in their hands without feeling pressured. Best of all, before coloring, we first talked about my current hair condition and the color I wanted.

Before the consultation, they prepared some simple toast and coffee for me! Haha, I had booked the very first morning slot and came without breakfast, so it was absolutely perfect! I had my hair consultation while sipping coffee.

I’ve had my hair colored continuously. When your hair color is patchy, it can make your whole impression look messy, you know? So I always go black, haha.

Between No. 3 and No. 1: choosing true black

They showed me a chart with several colors and said my hair was close to No. 3—a little lighter than true black. They recommended No. 3 if I wanted to bring it naturally to the same tone as my roots, or No. 1 if I preferred full black.

I thought really hard about what color to choose... but fall and winter are coming soon, and I love true black, haha, so I asked them to go with black! Oh, but it seems every hairstyle has a length surcharge? For long hair, it’s an extra ₩60,000. I definitely recommend checking first before you go!

What I chose this time was black hair dye! I was a little worried that dyeing it black would look too heavy or make my impression seem too strong, but after doing it, it felt much cleaner and calmer than I expected. In particular, it had a subtle shine depending on the lighting, so my hair even looked healthier than before.

After coloring, it didn’t just look overly black—it gave my overall look a tidier impression, which I personally loved. Haha. I think it would be a good option for anyone who has been keeping a light color and wants a change, or who wants neat-looking black hair.
