The store had a modern feel and looked really pretty. It's a quiet café that fits well with the calm neighborhood around Yangjae.

Inside, it's a cozy café with one 4-seat table and about three 2-seat tables. A nice place to stop by for a little while.

The chairs were comfortable and the tables spacious, so it was nice even for a short stay. The calm interior was lovely too!

Coffee menu and beans at Minimale Gaepo Branch

I remember visiting another Minimale Bakery & Coffee Bar location once before, and the Helsinki latte I had then was really delicious. I'm normally strictly an Americano person, but I kept thinking about this latte!!

Besides the signature Helsinki latte, there was a wide range of coffee-focused menu items like Einspänner, white Americano, flat white, and condensed milk latte. The beans themselves are so good that pretty much anything you order would taste great haha.

So in one corner of the store, they were also selling coffee beans. Personally I feel lattes go better with beans that have a bit of acidity, and the Dunkel beans were delicious!

True to its name as a bakery & café, Minimale also had many kinds of baked goods.

The financiers had a beautiful baked color, and were big in size but still reasonably priced — nice~

There were plenty of varieties too! Plain, lamington, caramel pecan, apple crumble, jalapeño bacon.

They can also be packed nicely into gift boxes, so it seems like a good gift option.

Minimale's signature dessert is babka. It's a traditional European bread, a soft and buttery roll. There's chocolate babka, hotteok (Korean sweet pancake) babka, butter babka, and orange babka — plenty to try depending on your taste.

In the fridge there was milk cream cake, chocolate cake, chocolate cream castella, cream castella, tiramisu, and even an orange pound butter bar — great for pairing with coffee for a sugar boost!

The signature Helsinki latte is also sold in bottles for easy takeout, so you can stock up for drinking at home.

How do the Helsinki latte and egg tart taste?

I tried the signature Helsinki latte, the egg tart, and the lamington financier.

I'd had it before, and I love the subtle sweetness. I don't like drinks that are too sweet since they leave my mouth feeling heavy, but the Helsinki latte is so gently sweet you wonder — is it sweet or not? — and I love that about it.

The coffee is bound to be good since the beans are delicious, but the latte is so rich and nutty that it makes you wonder what milk they're using. With that nuttiness paired with the subtle sweetness, it can't possibly taste bad! I'm not just saying this — it's genuinely the best latte I've ever had, for real!

Minimale's bakery is delicious too. The egg tart doesn't have a particularly unique flavor, but it's sweet enough to be a great sugar boost. It had a strong, soft scent of vanilla custard cream, and I enjoyed it a lot on an afternoon when my energy was flagging.
