Looking for a café near Ami Art Museum in Dangjin? ☕️ Today I stopped by MIMI Coffee Mill, a Sunseong-myeon café near the museum, haha.

It's right on the roadside, so from the outside it looked like a modest countryside café, but once I stepped in, the space was much bigger than expected with a really wide range of drinks and desserts. It's also a place where you can taste their own house-roasted coffee, so it's worth a look for anyone who's into coffee visiting Dangjin.

Parking at MIMI Coffee Mill and nearby Dangjin stops

MIMI Coffee Mill is run by the director of Dangjin Barista Coffee Academy, who is also the founder of Myeoncheon Changgo Café, so you could really feel the coffee expertise behind it. There's parking for about 10 cars in front of the café, and if it's full, there's additional parking next to Wonjo Dwaeji Iyagi.

Being on the roadside also made it convenient to visit by car. It's a great spot to pair with nearby Dangjin travel courses like Ami Art Museum or Myeoncheon Eupseong (fortress town).👍🏻

What the café interior and outdoor area are like

Stepping inside MIMI Coffee Mill, there's a wood-toned interior with a variety of seating. The tables have plenty of space between them and the whole place is fairly large, so it felt easy to sit back and enjoy a coffee. Quite a different vibe from the modest look from outside, haha.

There's also an outdoor space out back you can walk into, lush and quiet — it looked great for a nice-weather day, haha.

I liked that this Dangjin café, MIMI Coffee Mill, lets you enjoy both the indoor and outdoor spaces.

MIMI Coffee Mill really has a huge drink menu. Beyond coffee, there are non-coffee options and seasonal specials too, so there are plenty of choices even if you're visiting with someone who can't drink coffee.

The signature MIMI cream latte

The signature menu of MIMI Coffee Mill, the MIMI cream latte ☕️ Also known as the misutgaru (roasted grain powder) cream latte, this signature drink has apparently sold over 80,000 cups. Knowing it went through a long development process made me even more curious. It's a milk base with doppio espresso, topped generously with fresh misutgaru cream made daily, and the topping changes by season.

In summer, it's topped with black sesame powder, and in winter, with rice puffs. They also recommend drinking the MIMI cream latte as is, without a straw and without stirring.⭐️

Dangjin sweet potato and tofu specialty drinks and ice cream

MIMI Coffee Mill also has menu items made with Dangjin local specialties. They sell a sweet potato latte, sweet potato ice cream, and roasted sweet potato using Dangjin Hopung sweet potatoes. Menu items using local specialties gave this Dangjin café its own charm.

In the fridge there was also Dangjin tofu ice cream and Dangjin Hopung sweet potato ice cream.🍦 The tofu ice cream in particular apparently uses technology transferred from The Born Korea, which made me even more curious. With coffee plus a range of desserts and ice creams, it seemed like a good spot for family visits too.

Desserts and bakery snacks

MIMI Coffee Mill also had a wide variety of desserts ready. From cookies to sandwiches, castella, butter bars, macarons, and cakes, there was plenty to pair with a drink.

They also sell easy snacks like nurungji (scorched rice) chips, black sesame cookies, and crispy baguette. Great for when just coffee doesn't feel like enough.

How did the drinks and desserts taste?

This time I ordered the MIMI cream latte, iced Americano, mocha bun, chocolate cake, castella, and palmier.

Iced Americano

A great choice if you want to enjoy the true flavor of the beans, fitting for a café that uses its own roasted coffee. Paired with a sweet dessert, the coffee's bitterness balances the sweetness nicely.

MIMI cream latte

A drink where the nutty misutgaru cream meets rich coffee. You get the sweet, smooth cream flavor first, followed by the deep coffee flavor — a combination that really lives up to being the signature menu. Recommended for those who want a nutty misutgaru flavor rather than just a plain sweet latte.✨

Mocha bun

A sweet bun with a subtle coffee aroma — nutty on the outside, with cream cheese inside for a soft, appealing texture!

Chocolate cake

A cake that lets you enjoy chocolate's rich, sweet flavor.

Palmier (palm-shaped puff pastry)

A dessert of layered, flaky pastry with chocolate added — the crisp, crumbly texture and sweet chocolate flavor together make it a great pairing with coffee, highly recommended!

With its own house-roasted coffee and the signature MIMI cream latte with over 80,000 cups sold, I'd especially recommend it to coffee lovers.⭐️
