East coast one day, west coast the next! The day before I went to see the East Sea, and this day I went to see the West Sea. Whenever I'm out that way, I usually make a loop through Seosan, Yesan, and Dangjin. Dangjin especially has so many hidden restaurants and cafés! Today I want to introduce one that's already super popular with locals — MIMI Coffee Mill, a Chungnam café.
Where is MIMI Coffee Mill, and is there parking?
MIMI Coffee Mill is located at 1064 Nambu-ro, Sunseong-myeon, Dangjin-si, Chungcheongnam-do. There's plenty of parking in front of and beside the store, so it was easy to get to by car.

Following the navigation with MIMI Coffee Mill typed in, I kept thinking, 'there's a café out here?' The green countryside road had such a romantic, pretty vibe, and there were a lot of factories around too. As soon as I arrived, I could tell this place is basically a beloved hangout spot for the workers at those nearby factories, haha.

AC blasting! The parking lot is huge too, so you can park with no worries at all. You can park right in front of the store, and there's plenty of space in the lot next to it as well.

There's also a terrace space out back! It was raining hard that day so I sadly couldn't check it out, but it looked like a great spot to zone out while looking at the green trees.
Inside MIMI Coffee Mill: old factory belt and group tables
The inside of MIMI Coffee Mill is spacious and pretty, and I was genuinely surprised at how steady the stream of customers was! It's truly the hangout of Dangjin!
I quickly snapped a photo during a lull in customers, hehe. The group seating is well set up too, so it's perfect not just for groups but for family, friends, or a date spot.
The store is also decorated with antique props in a really stylish way. Aren't the poster illustrations so pretty?! The interior is so nice that just looking around is fun in itself.
Even the kitchen was built keeping the original factory conveyor belt intact — so stylish! It reminded me of a café called Anthracite that also turned an old factory into a café while keeping the factory look intact, and MIMI Coffee Mill did the same thing.

House-roasted coffee and Dangjin specialty menu
Here's another reason MIMI Coffee Mill is so beloved! This café is run by the director of the Dangjin Barista Academy, so the owner is a genuine coffee expert, and you can taste fresh, delicious coffee roasted in-house.
The drink menu! There's such a wide variety of drink options. From coffee to signature menu items to different coffee types, there's something to satisfy anyone, and plenty of unusual items too, which I loved even more. Best of all, everything is made with ingredients grown in Dangjin, which made me trust it even more — I felt like this was a must-visit stop if you're traveling to Dangjin.

MIMI Coffee Mill's signature menu item, the MIMI cream latte, comes with rice puffs in winter and black sesame in summer. Knowing it's a misutgaru (roasted grain powder) cream latte made me even more excited.
The local specialty and bread counter
They also sell a variety of local specialty products and breads that go well with coffee! Great for gifting, and also great as a snack.
Peanut butter soboro, sweet corn mochi soboro, glutinous rice pea bread and more — breads that both kids and adults will love.
Beyond that there's jjondeugi (chewy taffy), cookies, nurungji (scorched rice) chips, and even soft tofu ice cream made using technology transferred from Baek Jong-won's The Born Korea, plus Dangjin Hopung sweet potatoes — honestly there was so much I wanted to try, I wanted to eat it all.

So many items here are made from Dangjin specialty products that also make great gifts, so even if you come often, you can always find something new and different to try.

Ordering is easy — there are even two kiosks, and if a kiosk feels intimidating, you can also order directly with staff or the owner, so there's no need to worry.

The 6 things we ordered at MIMI Coffee Mill
We ordered an iced latte, MIMI cream latte, peanut butter soboro, sweet corn mochi soboro, Dangjin soft tofu ice cream, and a butter bar! We hadn't eaten a meal yet, so we figured we'd make this our brunch and ordered a lot, haha.

MIMI cream latte, the signature drink
First, the MIMI cream latte! The visuals alone are insane! Using a traditional grain-measuring wooden box as a coaster/tray felt so perfectly matched, I was honestly impressed.

The MIMI cream latte is made purely with a misutgaru (roasted grain powder) blend of Dangjin black soybeans, oats, domestic Job's tears, black barley, and black sesame — all washed, steamed, dried, and roasted. It's the café's own signature drink, developed through countless rounds of testing!

It's genuinely smooth and not too sweet, with a nutty flavor that's easy for anyone to fall in love with. Once I tasted it, I completely understood why 80,000 cups of this have been sold. You know how older folks generally don't go for cream-topped coffee drinks? But here, they were all grabbing MIMI cream lattes to go, haha.
Iced latte
Next, the iced latte! The coffee itself was so good, I was genuinely moved! Since the beans are cupped and roasted in-house every morning and blended fresh, the flavor comes out even more nutty and delicious.

Dangjin soft tofu ice cream
The Dangjin soft tofu ice cream! The packaging alone made my heart skip a beat — the clever touch of packing it in an actual tofu wrapper! Mixed with the bean powder that comes alongside it, it was genuinely smooth, nutty, and had a really strong tofu flavor.

It felt unique and unusual in a way that was totally my style! I was impressed by the cleverness the entire time I ate it, and impressed by the flavor too! A nutty, rich tofu ice cream that kids and adults alike will love!

Peanut butter soboro and sweet corn mochi soboro
Packed generously with soft peanut cream on the inside, it's already delicious and soft, and then meeting the soboro (crumble topping) on top pushed the nuttiness to another level — the peanut cream soboro!

The corn mochi bun is flattened because there's mochi packed inside, and it's completely chewy, with the sweet corn skin on top as the finishing touch! It tasted so good I wanted to buy 10 for my mom, haha. It's addictive and stays on your mind — I need to buy some again next time!
Butter bar, taken to go
The butter bar we brought home! Leave it at room temperature until it softens slightly before eating — the buttery flavor really comes alive and it tastes even better. This one absolutely has to be paired with an Americano, haha. That nutty butter aroma rises up, and the more you eat, the more addictive it gets — the best!
Genuinely delicious, and a Dangjin café I'll definitely stop by again whenever I'm in the area — MIMI Coffee Mill! Combined with the rest of the trip, the 2-hour drive there was absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!
