Haeundae Korean restaurant with baby chairs: Songjeongok

In short

Songjeongok Songjeong Main Branch is a Korean restaurant in Haeundae, Busan, serving abalone pot rice sets and gabrisal bossam. Baby chairs on both floors made a relaxed meal with my mom, husband, and baby easy, right through to the seafood-broth scorched-rice finish. Verdict: a clean, hearty choice for a family meal.

It was nice that we could park right in front of the restaurant~!

They list the real names of their ingredients like this, so doesn’t it give off even more of a great-restaurant vibe~~? The overall interior had a warm wood feel!

Restaurant interior featuring wood materials

The restaurant uses wooden materials throughout, so it felt really warm~~

Open kitchen where food preparation can be seen

It has an open kitchen, so we could watch the food being prepared,

Restaurant window with a view outside

It isn’t right by the sea, but the view through the restaurant windows was lovely too, so I enjoyed looking outside while we ate. This is the general feel of the first floor!! And I saw there was a second floor too!

Second-floor space with mother-of-pearl cabinet decor

When we went upstairs, can you see the mother-of-pearl cabinet decor~~? It was so beautiful! The mother-of-pearl-style design felt both classic and sophisticated. It had a charm quite different from the clean, typical restaurants you see so often these days! The second-floor atmosphere!!

The second floor was spacious too, so it looked perfect for gatherings or daytime work dinners! Oh! I also loved that both the first and second floors had baby chairs!

What we chose

Chosen Korean set menu
Components of the chosen set menu

The basic set came with salad and stir-fried squid,

plus doenjang (fermented soybean paste) and wrap vegetables!! Because‼️‼️‼️ the gabrisal bossam (boiled pork collar) comes out before the pot rice~~! Can you see that bossam spread~~

Platter of gabrisal bossam

It all came on one platter, which made it so easy to eat, haha. Along with the bossam platter, the table was filled with banchan (Korean side dishes), including seasoned cockles, green-onion kimchi, white kimchi, fresh kimchi salad, and shredded radish salad~~

Wrapped up with the greens, it was absolutely delicious 👍🏻

The abalone pot rice set‼️‼️ The pot rice looked nutty just from the first glance, and when I tried it, the savory flavors of the abalone and rice worked so well together—it was light and delicious.

Abalone pot rice set

These days, when I eat with family, I prefer Korean food that isn’t overly intense and feels clean. Having each side dish with the pot rice made a whole bowl of rice disappear in no time, haha. Can you see how loaded it is with abalone!!

Finishing the pot rice with seafood broth

First, we scooped the rice into bowls, then poured seafood broth into the pot and ate it like sungnyung (scorched-rice soup)~!

But this was seriously such a treat, haha. The seafood broth added savory depth to the nutty pot rice, and it made for such a warm finish—we enjoyed every last bit!!

Finishing the abalone pot rice meal

I visited while looking for a good Korean restaurant in Songjeong, and not only the food but the restaurant’s atmosphere left quite an impression too~

Meal at Songjeongok with a baby

We visited with our baby, and having a baby chair ready made it comfortable to eat with a child~! Since I came with my mom, I also thought it would be a good place to bring your parents. It felt like a great spot when you want a hearty family meal!

Especially if you’re looking for clean, well-prepared Korean food in Songjeong, this is a good place to consider for a Korean set meal. And if you like filling dishes such as abalone pot rice, I’d recommend it for that too 👍🏻🤍⭐️

We polished off everything from the abalone pot rice to the seafood-broth sungnyung and ended the meal feeling very happy :)
