My partner and I took a slightly late summer vacation to Dangjin, and as soon as we arrived, our very first meal was at Myeongnyun Jinsa Galbi Dangjin Gijisi Branch (명륜진사갈비 당진기지시점).

We left right after work, so by the time we got to Dangjin it was already close to 8pm.

We were both starving and craving something sweet and savory like galbi, so we headed straight for the meat at the reliably good Myeongnyun Jinsa Galbi.

Myeongnyun Jinsa Galbi isn't just pork galbi (marinated pork ribs) — you can freely help yourself to pork belly, bulgogi, and other kinds of meat, plus use the self-bar, which is really satisfying when you're this hungry.

The Dangjin branch we visited this time was spacious and well organized overall, so we got to fill up happily right from the first night of our trip :)
Where is Myeongnyun Jinsa Galbi Dangjin Gijisi Branch, and where do you park?
Myeongnyun Jinsa Galbi Dangjin is located on the 2nd floor of the building.
There's a large parking lot behind the building, so we parked easily, and since parking at the back connects directly to the 2nd floor, it was convenient to walk right into the restaurant.
Once inside, there were plenty of tables with comfortable spacing between seats — good for a couple, but it also looked like a fine spot for family meals or group gatherings.

Even though we came pretty late, the tables and the area around the self-bar weren't messy at all, and the food was neatly stocked.

At an all-you-can-eat BBQ place where lots of people keep using the self-bar, this kind of detail matters, and it was easy to use here.
How much is all-you-can-eat meat in Dangjin? 21,900 won per person
The price at Myeongnyun Jinsa Galbi is ₩21,900 per adult. You can grill as much pork galbi, whole pork belly, and marinated meat as you want, and it also comes with a self-bar stocked with various side dishes, rice, and drinks.

These days, when two people go to a BBQ place and order meat plus a rice dish on top, the bill adds up fast — but here we could eat all sorts of things until we were full for just a little over ₩20,000, so it felt like good value.

Best of all, instead of sticking to just one kind of meat, you can bring back whatever you're in the mood for at any moment — that's the real advantage of Myeongnyun Jinsa Galbi!
What's on the self-bar: japchae, tteokbokki and gondre rice
Before grilling any meat, we checked out the self-bar first.

From the basics like lettuce wraps, garlic, and kimchi, to ready-to-eat dishes like tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), and fried snacks, everything was well prepared.

There were several different sauces for the meat too, so you just scoop whatever suits your taste — we grabbed a little of everything we wanted to fill out our table.
And since there were two rice options, white rice and gondre rice (wild aster greens rice), we went with the gondre rice.
Round one: whole pork belly on the grill
We started with pork belly first!
We laid the thickly sliced pork belly on the grill and let the outside get nice and golden brown.

Once it was cooked enough, we cut it into bite-sized pieces and grilled it a little more, and as just the right amount of fat rendered out it was so delicious.

Crisp on the outside, juicy and savory inside — it was tasty even with just a light dip in sauce, and we also wrapped it in perilla leaves with garlic, or paired it with the gondre rice we'd brought over earlier, eating our way through it enthusiastically.

I was glad we started with pork belly first!
Round two: seasoned pork galbi with corn cheese
After eating our fill of pork belly, we moved on to seasoned pork galbi.
Galbi coated in sweet marinade can burn quickly, so we flipped it diligently on both sides to grill it just right.

The well-cooked galbi had that sweet, salty marinade flavor — exactly the familiar taste you always crave.

We ate some plain, wrapped some in lettuce, and paired it with the corn cheese melting beside the grill — the sweet galbi marinade went really well with the rich, savory cheese.
After all, you can't come to Myeongnyun Jinsa Galbi and skip the pork galbi :)
Round three: finishing with sweet bulgogi
We wrapped things up with sweet bulgogi.
We were already pretty full from all the pork belly and galbi, but bulgogi still sounded good.

Working through pork belly, then pork galbi, then sweet bulgogi in order, each with a different flavor, meant we got noticeably less tired of eating than if we'd stuck to just one kind of meat.

Being able to pick whichever kind you're in the mood for on any given day makes this a solid option for anyone looking for all-you-can-eat meat in Dangjin.

Why Myeongnyun Jinsa Galbi works for just two people
We left Myeongnyun Jinsa Galbi Dangjin properly full, right from day one of our Dangjin trip.

The restaurant and self-bar were well organized, and beyond the meat there were plenty of side dishes to pair with it, so the two of us could grab whatever we wanted and enjoy a variety of combinations.

With such a wide variety of meat, it's a good spot even for people with different tastes visiting together, and since you can eat as much as you like, it's worth keeping in mind if you're looking for an all-you-can-eat spot in Dangjin or a place to bring the family for Korean BBQ 🥩
