Pocheon pasta restaurant for spicy vongole on a weekend: Eoneu Dal

Back to Pocheon Art Valley's favorite spot 'Eoneu Dal' — and my vongole pasta recommendation!

When I visited before, the atmosphere and the food were both so good that I thought it'd be perfect for an anniversary. So when something worth celebrating came up with my family, I went back to Eoneu Dal to set the mood. I tried some new dishes this time, different from last visit. And yes — I refilled the bread basket again haha. Here's my review of Eoneu Dal.

Where is Eoneu Dal, and what are its hours and parking?

Eoneu Dal is an Italian restaurant at 54 Jeongmun-dong-gil, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's open daily from 11:30 to 21:30, with a break from 16:00 to 17:00, and closed on Mondays.

Weekend evening waiting on Tabling, reservations on CatchTable

Right as you walk in, there's a TableLing kiosk on the left where you can register for the waitlist, and reservations ahead of time can be made through the CatchTable app. (I opened CatchTable before arriving, worried it'd be crowded, but it only lets you book — for waitlisting, use the TableLing app.)

Being a weekend evening, the tables were packed with guests. Luckily some people were just leaving, so we didn't have to wait long before getting seated. The spacing between tables was generous enough that you didn't feel the people next to you.

On one side there's a big table like this — I'd guess it works well for large families or team dinners.

The restroom, on the right just past the entrance, was clean.

Eoneu Dal's menu, prices and QR code ordering

Eoneu Dal's menu has a wide range — salads, pasta, risotto, pilaf, and steak. This time we ordered vongole pasta ₩20,000, mushroom cream pasta (mild) ₩20,000, and shrimp pilaf (mild) ₩19,000.

You order via the QR code on the table, but the screen disappears quickly if you don't keep tapping around, so you may need to scan again.

I reordered the vongole pasta I loved so much last time, and picked two new dishes for the rest.

The table setting and the free pre-meal bread refill

Eoneu Dal's basic table setting includes herb-infused water, two plates of cucumber and radish pickles, and warm bread before the meal. Since it was busy that day, the bread came out after the food, but we still refilled it once.

The table had very neat tableware, plus water with what I think was herbs in it. They also gave us two plates of cucumber and radish pickles to go with the meal.

How do the mushroom cream pasta, vongole pasta and shrimp pilaf taste?

Eoneu Dal's mushroom cream pasta was loaded with mushrooms and not too heavy, the vongole pasta had plenty of clams and a slight kick of spice, and the shrimp pilaf came with several thick shrimp on top, making for a generous portion.

The mushroom cream pasta came out first. Cream pasta really can't be bad, right?

It was packed with mushrooms, which made it fun to pick through, and best of all it wasn't too rich or heavy.

At the end I dipped bread in the sauce, and it was so good.

The vongole pasta still had plenty of clams, and being slightly spicy made it even better.

I think I couldn't forget that spicy flavor and ended up ordering it again today haha. The noodle doneness was just right too. Some places serve it slightly underdone, al dente-style, which isn't bad either, but I prefer noodles cooked a bit more, so this suited my taste perfectly.

The shrimp pilaf had several thick shrimp on top, and it paired well with both the spicy vongole and the cream pasta.

Like the pastas, the shrimp pilaf portion was generous, plenty for three people to share. Since the vongole pasta is on the spicier side, it might be a good idea to ask for the other dishes mild (even without a child in the group).

Final verdict: is Eoneu Dal good for a family anniversary dinner?

The restaurant's atmosphere made me think it'd be perfect for an anniversary, and coming back after a while, I was really satisfied with the meal. I'd recommend the vongole pasta, but keep in mind it's on the spicy side! Next time I want to try the popular salmon salad!
