Paju Korean restaurant set meal with pork bulgogi: Eomma-ui Ttuksim
In short
Eomma-ui Ttuksim is a Korean restaurant in Paju, Gyeonggi, serving home-style set meals. My friend and I ordered the ₩19,900 Ttuksim Jjukkumi Set Meal for two, with cheonggukjang, pork bulgogi, jjukkumi, and generous side dishes. Verdict: a filling meal that feels like food made by Mom.

My friend had told me there was a great Korean restaurant near her place, somewhere she goes whenever she misses Mom's cooking, and I finally made it there!! I’m a home-cooked-meal person who can’t cook home-cooked meals—that’s me~
I’m normally a Korean-food person too, so it had already been on my must-try list. I love the name too: Eomma-ui Ttuksim (엄마의뚝심).

There were two of us, so we ordered the Ttuksim Jjukkumi Set Meal for two and chose cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew)!
A cozy interior in warm wood tones

The restaurant is decorated in wood tones, with white curtains and lighting that make it feel warm and comfortable ˃ᴗ˂ I noticed lots of people dining alone too! Most tables seat two to four people, and the big windows along the side let in lovely sunlight. There’s plenty of space between tables, so it didn’t feel cramped at all. Eomma-ui Ttuksim almost feels like a café—and they have high chairs too!

Extra ssam (leaf wraps) cost ₩2,000! Napa cabbage wraps come with the meal, and there was more than I expected, so we didn’t order any extra!
A generous Ttuksim Jjukkumi Set Meal, from stew to side dishes
They put the cheonggukjang on a portable burner first, and its salty, nutty flavor was so good. I loved being able to eat it piping hot until the very end! It was delicious with rice, and I polished off one bowl of rice with this alone.

Cabbage wraps, garlic, ssamjang (savory dipping paste), and such neat banchan (Korean side dishes): seasoned peppers, acorn jelly, young-radish kimchi, seasoned eggplant, stir-fried fish cake, kimchi pancake, and broccoli—the quintessential side dishes that always show up with Mom’s home cooking. Everything was nicely seasoned and perfect with rice. We ate every last bit of every side dish haha. Especially the seasoned eggplant... I need to reflect on my former self for thinking it was “just eggplant.”

Then the pork bulgogi and jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) arrived—sweet, salty, and delicious. I ate two bowls of rice (๑ᵕ⌓ᵕ̤)

Pork bulgogi wrapped in napa cabbage
The pork bulgogi was deeply infused with seasoning, with a subtle smoky flavor too, so it was delicious even on its own! But! Pork bulgogi is at its best wrapped up in ssam ❤️ The cabbage leaves were big, so cutting them in half was just right. Put a piece of meat on a cabbage wrap, add the seasoned peppers and seasoned eggplant, then eat it in one bite—this combo is truly the rule.

Such a glorious spread ˆ̑՝̮ˆ̑❤︎ From the side dishes to the mains, everything was generously laid out, and we had such a satisfying meal. Eomma-ui Ttuksim feels like somewhere I’ll return whenever I miss Mom’s home cooking or simply want a hearty meal.
I’ve heard so many good things about the bossam too, so next time I want to try the bossam set meal. Definitely coming back to try another set meal.
