Paju café for handmade doughnuts and family outings: Heuksadang
In short
Heuksadang is a large dessert café in Heyri Art Village, Paju, Gyeonggi. I took home its handmade doughnuts to enjoy with iced Americanos, and their not-too-sweet flavor was an especially big hit with my parents. Verdict: a café I return to whenever doughnuts are calling.

Whenever I’m craving doughnuts, I head straight to Heuksadang (흑사당) in Paju without hesitation. Because the doughnuts are handmade, their texture is on a completely different level from other doughnut shops, and it was selected for the Blue Ribbon Survey for two consecutive years, in 2025 and 2026—so it’s a café I think of every time I visit Heyri Art Village in Paju. Heuksadang’s doughnuts are even better because they aren’t overly sweet, and my parents loved them even more!

This is a large café in Paju’s Heyri Art Village. I visit cafés in Heyri Art Village often, and Heuksadang is a handmade-doughnut favorite where I’ll pick up a takeaway order whenever I’m craving doughnuts.

Heuksadang is a large Paju café with an impressively high ceiling. The airy interior feels just as open as the ceiling is tall, making it a lovely place to relax, so I keep coming back. It’s especially a place parents really enjoy when you bring them along~

There are high chairs, so it’s great for bringing babies, too. The first floor is spacious and comfortable, making it very easy to bring in a stroller. This is a Paju dessert favorite I’ve visited with a stroller ever since my first child was a baby.

Heuksadang in Heyri Art Village is wonderful for an autumn date in Paju! There’s a separate pet-friendly area, so you can relax indoors comfortably with your dog while enjoying delicious coffee and doughnuts.
Heuksadang menu and handmade doughnut selection

Here are Heuksadang’s menu and prices. There’s a variety of coffee and drinks, plus plenty of bingsu (shaved ice dessert) options. I had Heuksadang’s red-bean bingsu this summer too, and I still remember happily digging into it—it was so generous and delicious 🤭 (The portion is seriously huge..!)

These are the crème brûlée, chocolate, and injeolmi (roasted soybean powder) doughnuts, which you could call Heuksadang’s signature items. Kids and parents alike enjoyed all three, so these are the doughnuts I always take home.

What makes Heuksadang special is that every doughnut and all the cream are made in-house. That means you get soft doughnuts and fluffy cream, too.

There are lots of takeaway customers and group orders, so doughnuts can sell out if you visit late. I also stopped by Heuksadang for the first time in a while and took home four kinds of handmade Paju doughnuts~
Trying the crème brûlée doughnut at home

I took home four of my favorite Heuksadang doughnuts.
- Crème brûlée doughnut ₩5,000
- Chocolate doughnut ₩5,300
- Injeolmi doughnut ₩5,500

This is the crème brûlée doughnut, one of Heuksadang’s signature menu items. Sweet crème brûlée sits on top of a soft milk doughnut, and its sweet, slightly bitter flavor is a bit like dalgona (Korean honeycomb toffee), which is why it’s the most popular doughnut~

With a cool iced Americano alongside a chewy handmade doughnut that tasted freshly made, I thought, “As expected, nothing beats Heuksadang doughnuts”~
Heuksadang, the Paju Heyri Art Village café I end up returning to whenever I want doughnuts. If you’re curious about the taste of handmade doughnuts, visit this weekend!
