Ansan bar with reservation perks and Korean bar food: Banwolga

I found Banwolga while looking for a bar with a great atmosphere in Gojan-dong, Ansan. If you like Korean drinking food and izakaya dishes too, this is absolutely a place worth trying at least once!!

The food is delicious, of course, but this is also an event spot where the owner's thoughtful touch really shines!!

Warm wood tones and draft beer

The interior has warm wood tones, and you can feel the owner's care in every framed picture. I heard they have received as many as eight Blue Ribbons, which feels like proof of consistently careful management and somehow makes you trust the place even more. For reference, the Blue Ribbon listing is renewed every year, so a business can be excluded the following year or have its ribbon count changed if its quality or service management falls short.

They have a draft-beer draft manager. A Master Draft Manager (MDM) is a highly trusted draft-beer quality certification recognized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and apparently only nine people nationwide hold this rare title. No wonder the beer was so good!!

The draft beer had a harmonious cream-to-beer ratio and was not overly fizzy, making it refreshing and easy to drink in big gulps.

Service that looks after you from reservations to song requests

What I remembered most about Banwolga was not only the food, but also how thoughtfully it looks after its guests.

When I arrived with a reservation, I loved seeing the reserver's name and a warm greeting written out. The hangover-relief kit, arranged for before drinking, while drinking, and after drinking, was honestly a little moving.

There are clothes hangers set aside separately, too. Little details like these added up and made me feel, “They really do care about their guests here.”

You can write down a song request at the table and listen to what you want. But honestly,, even if you do not request anything, their playlist is excellent!!

Banwolga Hansang and uni cream pasta

A huge plate arrived with yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), yuk sashimi (thinly sliced raw beef), gamtae gimbap (seaweed rice rolls), vegetable rolls, smoked cheese, soy-marinated soft-boiled egg, shiitake mushrooms, and more, so I was happy with the presentation from the start. Rather than eating the meat on its own, the appeal is that you can combine it with all the different accompaniments any way you like. I totally 인정 this as a great yukhoe spot in Ansan!!

Rich uni cream pasta

This was a seafood cream pasta with uni on top of a thick, rich cream sauce. It had not only uni but also a variety of seafood, including shrimp and squid, for a full, nutty flavor. Chilies gave it a slight kick, so it never became too rich all the way through.

Limited-quantity grilled cuttlefish

Its chewy yet tender texture creates a savory flavor that builds with every bite, completely different from regular squid. Dipped in chili mayo, I could keep eating it without it becoming heavy. It is sold in limited quantities, so try it if you get the chance.

A 100% winning review event

This is truly generous service: a 100% winning review event. We won a snack bundle that was right up the kids’ alley!! Ahh~ I was so happy!! An Ansan izakaya that satisfied both grown-ups and kids; it is a Gojan-dong bar I want to visit again.

Banwolga stayed with me even more because you can feel its care for guests in each little event. With such a varied menu, it can hit the spot no matter who you visit with. If you are looking for a bar in Gojan-dong, Ansan where you can enjoy tasty drinking food and a good atmosphere together, I recommend Banwolga. I think I will come back next time to try other dishes, too.
