I got a signature healthy perm layered C-curl iron perm from Designer Leeyu at Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch. This is the after shot taken with Cheongdam Station in the background right after leaving the salon. A softly settled C-curl perm.

Why I asked for heavy ends

The trendy look these days tends toward sharper, more angular ends, but I wanted to gently smooth down hair that was damaged from a hippie perm, so I asked for the ends to be finished heavy and soft. In the end, I got exactly the mood I wanted.

I want to thank Designer Leeyu again for spending nearly 4 hours working strand by strand, without compromise, on an iron perm optimized for my thin hair texture.

Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch is super close to the station. You'll see it right as you come out of exit 7 of Cheongdam Station. It's on the 3rd floor of the Dunkin' building.

The salon is spacious and clean. One notable thing is that more than 80% of the clients seem to be foreigners? Apparently many find the salon through Cheongdam Beauty Lab's Instagram. They can generally offer service in English and have a reputation for meticulous, precise treatments.

How much does the perm cost?

Prices are posted in front of the salon and vary by designer. They can also change depending on hair condition.

Can you perm damaged hair again?

My main question was whether you can get another perm on already damaged hair, and I needed a healthy perm.

Looking at my hair condition, Designer Leeyu chose an iron perm for volume on my somewhat thin hair. I was curious what a "healthy perm" even meant and how it was possible. Part of it is using better-quality chemicals, but

perm damage tends to get worse the longer the softening time is, and Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch minimizes this, adjusting the curl with the number of rods used instead

and apparently has its own know-how for this. My heat processing took about 10 to 20 minutes. Since it's a high-layer cut with curls added layer by layer, the number of rods used is also huge.

Designer Leeyu's iron root perm goes into each section, kept to the minimum number needed.

Four hours in the chair: root volume and the C-curl

After doing the root volume, she went back over the center of the C-curl ends with a straight iron treatment. I thought, this'll be done in a couple of hours, haha — but honestly, was Designer Leeyu okay after doing this to my hair? Physically, I mean. She styled it with such uncompromising care that I felt sorry just sitting there.

After the treatment, she even taught me, like a private lesson, the drying know-how and direction so the volume would hold up well when I blow-dry it myself.

Who this perm is right for

My original hair had a lot of damage, plus a lot of scissor work had gone into it, so it was hard to get a calm, glossy look. That's part of why I hadn't been able to bring myself to go find a salon. I went to Park Jun Beauty Lab Cheongdam Branch thinking, well, a Cheongdam hair salon should be able to handle it! And through the signature healthy perm and Designer Leeyu's expertise, I was able to find the mood I wanted. Thank you again.
