Since I love clothes, I enjoy styling myself to match my mood that day, and I think a hairstyle shows off styling as clearly as any fashion item does. Today, I’m sharing my visit to Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch (아뉴헤어 청담본점) for a hair consultation, long layered cut, and magic perm (a chemical straightening treatment)!!!

Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch is a well-regarded Gangnam hair salon. It is on the second floor at 5 Seolleung-ro 127-gil, and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 20:30.

Anew Hair’s main branch is less than a 10-minute walk from Gangnam-gu Office Station! With its easy-to-reach location, clean facilities, and kind staff, I could get my hair done comfortably. I heard it is also a Gangnam hair salon that many people visit while preparing for their weddings. It was easy to find a style I wanted by looking through the styles in the review photos, haha.

Hair Consultation in a Separate Room

Honestly, one reason I am picky about choosing a hair salon is that if they mess up your hair, there is no fixing it..🥺 And since prices have gone up so much compared with before, I tend to pay the money and go somewhere skilled and professional when I get a treatment. In that respect, I thought the hair consultation offered by Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch was really great!! A lot of salons will just glance at the hairstyle reference you bring and get on with it, but Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch has a separate consultation room and seriously considered whether they could recreate the hair reference I brought. Oh my, this is my first time at a salon like this…🥺

What I Asked for With My Long Layered Cut and Magic Perm

• No overly set perm with pronounced C-curls ❌
• Hair straightened sleekly, like with a magic perm
• Thick face-framing pieces cut to follow my face line when my hair is tied up

I am pretty picky, so… those were my requests! Since the hair in the photos was styled with a curling iron and blow-dryer, we decided to go ahead with a long layered cut and magic perm! It was my first time trying a style like this, so I was a little nervous, hahaha.

Can you see the state of my hair? Lol. It had been over a year since my last perm, and I had been wearing a layered cut styled with a Dyson. Since my hair is naturally a little wavy, I thought it was okay, haha… but it was a total mess.

My Long-Hair Magic Perm Took About 3 Hours

The long layered cut and magic perm took about 3 hours! The salon was spacious and clean, and most of all, the staff were so kind that chatting away made the time pass without feeling tiring!

They even gave me tea while I waited ❤️

The Calm, Polished Layered Magic Perm Result

Ta-da~!🙌🏻 The result!! Getting my messy hairstyle tidied up feels so refreshing. They preserved my existing layers while cutting it, and I think the magic perm came out just the way I wanted. My face is naturally quite asymmetrical, but because I had just left my naturally wavy hair as it was, I had simply thought, well, that is how it is. Seeing a front-facing photo made me realize it had been more noticeable than I thought… I am so happy—I feel like a polished, calm grown-up woman!!

After getting my hair done, I went on a date with my husband! I think I took a million selfies. It is close to Gangnam-gu Office Station, so it is easy to get to, and I am beyond satisfied with the hair consultation and a style that suits me so well!!
