Outdoor parasol café in Yeongjongdo for jambon sandwich: 5PM sunset

In short

5PM sunset hour is a bakery café in Yeongjong Haneul City, Incheon, on the first floor of the KCC Swichen commercial building. The writer ate a salt bread, a jambon rocket tomato sandwich, and a mango latte with fresh mango at the outdoor parasol tables beside the café, loving the crispy-outside-soft-inside salt bread and the fresh-yet-hearty sandwich. With green trees lining the outdoor seating, it's a neighborhood café that's great for sitting down with a kid.

Table with 5PM sunset hour salt bread and drink

I was in Yeongjongdo and the weather was so good it felt like a waste to just go inside. ☀️🌿 That's exactly when you need some good bread and a drink, haha. This time I visited 5PM sunset hour, in the KCC Swichen commercial building in Yeongjong Haneul City.

Outdoor view with green trees lining the café

From salt bread to sandwiches, scones, canelé and more, there was a good variety of bakery items and drinks, so it was perfect for a snack run. Best of all, right next to the café is so green — sitting outside there was such a treat. ❤️

❤️ 5PM sunset hour, with red that catches your eye

Red outdoor tables in front of the store

When you arrive, the red awning and tables catch your eye first. It suits the name 5PM sunset hour perfectly, and it's easy to spot even from a distance. There are outdoor tables in front of the store, but the spot I really liked was the side outdoor seating!

Side terrace seating under a large parasol

There's a table under a big parasol, with trees and greenery stretching right alongside it. 🌳 Since the weather was great we grabbed a seat outside, and that day I really felt like sitting outside was the right call.

☕ Small but full of character inside

Once you step inside, it's smaller than you'd expect. But it doesn't feel like just a small café — there's actually a lot to look at. Glass blocks, orange-colored accents, lighting, LPs and an audio setup — there are little points of interest everywhere, and you can really feel the owner's taste in the space.

Small but well put together, and the atmosphere was pretty too. 😊 And then, the bakery display!

From salt bread to ham-cheese salt bread, scones, canelé, butter rice cakes, bagels — there was a wide variety prepared. They also have sandwiches, so it looked like a good spot for a simple brunch too.

🥐 Confirmed: a salt bread spot worth knowing in Yeongjongdo

We ordered

Table spread of salt bread, jambon sandwich and mango latte
  • ✔️ Salt bread
  • ✔️ Jambon rocket tomato sandwich
  • ✔️ Mango latte

That's what we ordered. First I tried the salt bread…

Close-up of crispy-outside-soft-inside salt bread

Crispy outside, soft inside — the real deal. Haha. The outside was crispy while the inside was moist and soft, so it was really delicious. The salty-savory flavor was just right, and it was a decent size too, so eating just one felt satisfying. I love salt bread and eat it often at different places, but this one is a flavor I'd want again next time I'm here. If you're looking for a salt bread spot in Yeongjongdo, give this one a try. 👍

🥪 Jambon rocket tomato sandwich

Cross-section of a fully packed jambon rocket tomato sandwich

And here's the menu item I genuinely enjoyed the most — the jambon rocket tomato sandwich. Just from the cross-section after it's cut in half, you can see it's packed full inside. There's a generous amount of jambon, so it's hearty and filling, but the rocket and tomato make it fresh at the same time.

Fresh yet hearty, tangy yet sweet!

That combination was really great. 😋 The savory, salty flavor of the ham and cheese, plus the rocket and tomato, kept it from being too heavy — I kept reaching for more. I came for the salt bread and ended up discovering a great sandwich too, haha.

🥭 Fresh mango bobbing around — the mango latte

Mango latte with fresh mango pieces

For the drink I ordered a mango latte. When I got the glass, it wasn't just mango-flavored — there was actual fresh mango bobbing in it. Drinking the smooth latte and then biting into pieces of mango was sweet and refreshing at the same time, and it was delicious. Especially on a nice day like this one, drinking it outside made it taste even better. 💛

🌿 I envied the apartment residents here

Walking path lined with trees near the outdoor seating

Honestly, the food was delicious that day, but what I really loved was the outdoor atmosphere. There were trees right next to us, stretching out like a walking path, so it was so nice to sit there with my kid and rest while having a snack. Taking a bite of salt bread, sipping the mango latte, looking around at the surroundings, it suddenly hit me…

Green scenery viewed from under the parasol

I envied the apartment residents here. 😂 If a café like this were right outside your front door, it'd be so nice to grab a salt bread while out on a walk, or come down for a coffee or drink on a nice day.

Good bread, a good sandwich, and a cool mango latte on top. 🥭

The weather was great, the snacks were delicious, and it was just a happy afternoon. ❤️ If you're looking for a good-vibe neighborhood café in Yeongjongdo, or a salt bread spot in Yeongjongdo, give 5PM sunset hour a try. 😊
