I was on Yeongjongdo, and the weather was so nice that I finally went to a café again after ages :) This time, I visited 5PM sunset hour! Actually, this was my second visit. The salt bread I had on my first visit was so good that I kept thinking about it and came back!!
This is what I consider one of Yeongjongdo’s best spots for salt bread, so if you visit, I really hope you try it! It’s crazy delicious~~

5PM sunset hour location and bread release times
5PM sunset hour is in the KCC Switzen shopping complex in Sky City, Yeongjongdo, Incheon. If you’re driving, search for “Yeongjong Sky City KCC Switzen shopping complex” in your navigation app, or enter the address.
Since it’s a bakery café, there’s quite a variety of bread. Each item has a set release time, so it’s a good idea to time your visit if there’s something specific you want. Salt bread and bagels come out at 9 AM, egg tarts and financiers at 10 AM, and canelés at 9 AM from Friday through Sunday. If you’re going for salt bread like I was, keep that in mind :)

A terrace that was even better in nice weather
The inside of the café is neat and comfortable too, but what I especially loved here was the terrace.

There are quite a few terrace areas, so it’s perfect for having coffee outside on a nice day~~ The weather had just warmed up and the sunshine was lovely, so I came straight over without hesitation. On a day like this, the terrace wins over indoors every time~~
It had that relaxed terrace atmosphere, making it a lovely place to pause over a cup of coffee. If you’re looking for a leisurely café stop on Yeongjongdo on a cool, beautiful day like these, 5PM sunset hour with its terrace seating could be a good choice.

Ordering ice cream salt bread and coffee
This time, I ordered three things: a café latte, an Americano, and ice cream salt bread!
Here it is~~~ Yongbyeol Couple’s absolute favorite, 5PM sunset hour’s ice cream salt bread!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s seriously so delicious ㅠㅜ

The salt bread is seriously good;;; I remembered enjoying it so much on my first visit, and honestly, it was the biggest reason I came back this time too~~ Take one bite and you get that wonderful crisp-crunch sound. It’s so brilliantly, ridiculously delicious.

The ice cream salt bread that brought me back
The menu item I most want to recommend at 5PM sunset hour is, without question, the ice cream salt bread. The salt bread itself is genuinely delicious, and its outer layer is baked wonderfully crisp, so the texture was amazing. It crunches crisply, while the inside is chewy and nutty. Then they top it with Sangha Farm ice cream—what more is there to say about that combination... It’s just game over.

With warm, crisp salt bread and cold, smooth ice cream together, it really nailed that sweet-and-salty combination. I came back because it was delicious on my first visit, and it was just as good this time~~ Personally, this is a café where you absolutely have to eat salt bread when you’re on Yeongjongdo!! If you love salt bread, please make sure you try the ice cream salt bread!

Latte and Americano that paired beautifully with salt bread
I ordered a café latte as well, and its nutty, smooth flavor went beautifully with the salt bread. I’m the kind of person who loves coffee with bread, so a bite of salt bread followed by a sip of latte was exactly my kind of combination. Sitting on the terrace and drinking it slowly probably made it taste even better, hehe.
The Americano was clean and tasty too. Alongside the sweet ice cream salt bread, the clean Americano reset the flavors now and then, so I personally thought the pairing was great~~

This was my second visit, and it was one of those places that made me think, yes, I’m glad I came back. More than anything, it’s the kind of café that makes you return because the salt bread is just that good~~ With crisp outsides, chewy insides, and Sangha Farm ice cream on top, it’s the kind of thing you’d keep thinking about after trying it once.
The coffee is good, and the terrace is well set up too, so I think you’ll be even more satisfied if you visit on a nice day. I went as soon as the weather warmed up, and relaxing over coffee on the terrace with delicious salt bread was proper healing :) If you’re looking for a café on Yeongjongdo—especially if you love salt bread—be sure to try the ice cream salt bread at 5PM sunset hour!
