I visited Gogikkun Kimchunbae Gangnam, a Korean BBQ restaurant near Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station. Being able to enjoy beef and pork grilled directly over a real charcoal brazier made it even more satisfying. Here's my review after trying pork neck, pork belly, and a variety of other menu items.
How to walk to Gogikkun Kimchunbae Gangnam from Gangnam Station Exit 11
You can find Gogikkun Kimchunbae Gangnam by taking Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 4 or Gangnam Station Exit 11 and heading up the hill behind CGV. The restaurant uses both the 3rd and 4th floors of the building, so it felt like a fairly large space.

Let me show you photos of the dishes I ordered first.
Gogikkun Kimchunbae Gangnam hours and Chuseok closure
Since it's open every day, I felt this would be an easy spot to swing by whenever a craving for meat hits. Just a heads-up — the restaurant is closed on Friday, September 25 for Chuseok, so keep that in mind if you're planning a visit.

At the entrance there's a certified Korean pork sign along with information about the meat's origin.

There were several autographs on the wall, including one from chef Ahn Sung-jae, which caught my eye.
Does Gogikkun Kimchunbae Gangnam have rooms for a work dinner?
Gogikkun Kimchunbae Gangnam also has room-style seating, so you can eat in a more private setting. Going inside, there were several tables, and it looked like a good place to visit for a work dinner or gathering near Gangnam Station.

There are also coat hangers set up inside the room.

Gogikkun Kimchunbae Gangnam menu and prices
Ordering was easy through the table-order system. There was a wide range of options, from set menus like the Chunbae Assorted Platter and the Chunbae Couple Set to pork dishes like Korean pork belly, pork neck, pork rib finger meat, and outer skirt meat. Beef menu items included beef tongue and Korean wagyu sirloin, and you could also order yukhoe (beef tartare). Sides included naengmyeon (cold noodles), beef doenjang jjigae, and steamed egg — all good pairings with the grilled meat.
One thoughtful detail: through the table-order system, they've set up access to basic first-aid medicine in case something suddenly comes up.

How the staff say to eat the pork

Before the food arrived, I checked out the guide on how to enjoy the meat for the best flavor.

Pickled onions, white kimchi, mountain garlic leaves, green onion kimchi, shredded green onion salad, and a variety of sauces came out.
Pork belly and pork neck grilled over a charcoal brazier
At Gogikkun Kimchunbae Gangnam, a staff member grilled the meat directly over the charcoal brazier, so I could just eat without worrying about flipping it myself, which was convenient. Both the pork belly and pork neck looked thick and fresh overall, which built up my expectations before even taking a bite.

The meat I ordered arrived.

Once the meat was well cooked, it was moved to a spot on the grill where it wouldn't burn further.

The meat was good on its own, but it paired really well with the shredded green onion salad.

Adding basic side dishes like mountain garlic leaves or pickles let me mix and match combinations to my taste.
The side dishes: doenjang jjigae, yuzu highball and kimchi mari guksu
Beef doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), ₩7,000

This is a dish you'd miss if it were left out of a meat meal — the doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). It was loaded with hearty ingredients, and having a warm bowl in between bites of meat was really nice.
Yuzu highball, ₩11,000

The yuzu highball came with a cute bear-shaped ice cube. The alcohol wasn't too strong, and the yuzu flavor was rich, making it easy to drink without feeling heavy.
Kimchi mari guksu (cold kimchi noodle soup), ₩9,000
The kimchi mari guksu (cold kimchi noodle soup) also arrived. The cool broth combined with kimchi tasted refreshing and clean, similar to janchi guksu (banquet noodles), which I liked.
On the way out after finishing the meal, I noticed candy, dental floss, and hair ties set out. I wrapped up the meal with a piece of candy.
I also filmed a video of the interior atmosphere and the dishes I ordered at Gogikkun Kimchunbae Gangnam, a Korean BBQ restaurant near Gangnam Station.

Is Gogikkun Kimchunbae Gangnam worth it? Final verdict
Gogikkun Kimchunbae Gangnam turned out to be a good option when craving Korean BBQ between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station. The meat was thick and felt fresh, so it was genuinely delicious. Next time, I'd like to try the beef menu items too. With room-style seating available, it's also a nice spot for meals with friends or family, and it seems like a solid choice for a work dinner or gathering near Gangnam Station.
