10:30am brunch near Gangnam Station and a Sinsa walk: The Mignon Seoul

In short

The Mignon Seoul is a three-floor Western restaurant between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul, serving brunch from early in the morning. Booked on Catch Table for 10:30am and seated on the second floor, we ordered by kiosk and shared truffle gnocchi and pancakes for two, then walked to Sinsa for a fig parfait at Arch Seoul. For an early weekend brunch near Gangnam Station that turns into a full date course, The Mignon Seoul is a good place to start.

Where to eat brunch at 10:30am near Gangnam Station

We went on a date in the Gangnam area for the first time in a while over the weekend. We'd planned to eat brunch starting at 10:30am, so I searched hard for a brunch spot near Gangnam Station that opens early. That's how I found The Mignon Seoul.

Not many places open early enough for weekend morning brunch, but the timing here was perfect. We built the day into a course — brunch near Gangnam Station, then walking all the way to Sinsa for coffee and dessert — and it made for a really full day.

Inside The Mignon Seoul: three floors, and why to book on weekends

The Mignon Seoul feels like it takes over the whole building, spread across three floors, so it's bigger than it looks from outside. Each floor has a slightly different mood, and the menu has so many options that we had trouble deciding what to order at first! We'd booked ahead through Catch Table, and maybe because of that we were shown to a pretty good table on the second floor. If you're visiting on a weekend, I'd recommend booking ahead so you can get the seat you want.

Brunch for two at The Mignon Seoul: truffle gnocchi + pancakes

Ordering was easy — you just use the kiosk right at your table. I liked that instead of having a staff member explain every dish, we could take our time looking at the menu and pick what we wanted ourselves. We ended up ordering two dishes: truffle gnocchi and pancakes. If you're picking a brunch combo for two, I'd personally recommend this pairing! Neither portion was small, so two dishes were plenty for the two of us.

Truffle gnocchi: thick, rich sauce and thick-cut bacon

First up, the truffle gnocchi! The sauce was quite thick and rich. A subtle truffle aroma rose up, and the creamy sauce clung heavily to the gnocchi, making each bite feel pretty substantial. What stood out to me was how thick the bacon was! Not thin and crispy, but thick-cut bacon with real chew to it. Between the rich sauce and the thick bacon, this was a pretty hearty way to start a brunch.

Next, the pancakes! A sliced banana sat on top, its surface torched like a brûlée — fun just to look at. Eating the sweet, caramelized banana together with the soft pancake felt like dessert, in a good way. What I really liked was that the pancakes came with jamón, salad, and bread on the side. Eating only sweet pancake can get a little cloying, but the saltiness of the jamón and the freshness of the salad balanced it out nicely. In the end, truffle gnocchi plus pancakes turned out to be a great combo for a brunch for two — one rich and heavy, the other sweet and light, so the pairing worked well.

Walking from Gangnam to Sinsa for fig parfait at Arch Seoul

After a hearty morning brunch, it felt like a waste to just go home, so we decided to walk from Gangnam all the way to Sinsa. If the weather's decent, I'd really recommend walking like this as part of a weekend date. We stopped by Arch Seoul, which is apparently a hot spot these days, for dessert. The last thing we ate that day was a fig parfait! I've been into fig desserts lately, so I went in with high expectations, and it tasted even better after brunch and a walk. The fig's quiet sweetness paired really well with the parfait's soft texture — a great way to end the day.
