Wondang Station Korean restaurant with sungnyung finish: Kim Myeongju
In short
Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Wondang Station Branch is a hanjeongsik (Korean set-meal) restaurant across from Exit 1 of Wondang Station in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. The Tteuranchae Bapsang set for three costs 13,000 won per person, and adding boribulbi (dried croaker) for 18,000 won brought 12 side dishes, cheonggukjang (rich fermented soybean stew) and individual stone-pot rice, with the croaker eaten over green tea water and the crust left in the pot poured into sungnyung (scorched rice tea). For a filling Korean spread and easy parking in Wondang, Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang is worth the trip.

I visited Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Wondang Station Branch, a Wondang favorite where you can enjoy a generous spread with stone-pot rice, savory cheonggukjang, and neat side dishes. It was a place using fresh ingredients daily to prepare a carefully set table. It's close to Wondang Station and has plenty of parking, so it worked well whether I came by public transit or car.
Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang: a hanjeongsik restaurant by Wondang Station

First, let me show you the boribulbi (dried seasoned croaker) I ordered.
Hours, location and Chuseok holiday closure
Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Wondang Station Branch is open every day, which felt great for whenever I'm craving hanjeongsik (Korean set meal). Just note that it'll be closed for two days this Chuseok holiday, September 24 (Thu) and 25 (Fri).

Coming out of Wondang Station Exit 1, the restaurant was right across the street.
There's a wide parking area in front of the store, so it was great for visiting by car too.

The restroom is inside the store, and they have aprons and high chairs, for reference.
What the first floor looks like

The restaurant runs across the 1st and 2nd floors. Overall the space is spacious and neatly organized, which made for a relaxed meal.
The second floor for group bookings

The 2nd floor also has plenty of space, and it seems to be used mainly for group visits.
Menu prices and the one-dish-per-table rule

The menu includes boribulbi set, soy-marinated crab set, charcoal-grilled set, cockle salad set, and grilled mackerel set. I liked that you can choose according to your taste.

If you order the Tteuranchae Bapsang set, one à la carte dish needs to be ordered per table.

Side dishes and sikhye (sweet rice punch) were also sold separately.
- Tteuranchae Bapsang for 3 (₩13,000/person)
- Boribulbi ₩18,000
The 12 side dishes on the table

Japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), fried eggplant, kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), napa cabbage kimchi, and various namul (seasoned vegetable) dishes came out for a total of 12 side dishes. The variety was great for tasting a bit of everything.

I especially loved the kimchi and japchae. I'm not usually a fan of eggplant, but since it was fried, I ended up enjoying it.
Self-serve side dish corner and refills

If you need more side dishes, you can freely use the self-serve corner.
Tteuranchae Bapsang set with boribulbi added

A generous spread came out. With various side dishes, cheonggukjang, stone-pot rice, and boribulbi all together, it made for a really filling meal.
How the cheonggukjang tastes

The cheonggukjang had a rich broth and a savory flavor that went well with rice.
Boribulbi eaten over green tea water

The boribulbi came with a bottle of green tea, and you're meant to eat it dipped in the green tea along with rice. The flesh was nicely plump and seasoned just right. There wasn't much of the fishy taste you sometimes get, so it was easy to eat without hesitation.
Stone-pot rice and the sungnyung finish

Warm stone-pot rice also came out one per person, so everyone could eat comfortably at their own pace. After scooping out the rice, I poured water into the leftover scorched rice in the pot to make sungnyung (scorched rice tea).
Drinking the warm sungnyung after the meal felt clean and made for a nice finish.

There was also coffee available for dessert.
I also filmed a video of the interior atmosphere and the dishes we ordered at Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Wondang Station Branch, a Wondang favorite.

Is Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang worth it in Wondang?
I tried the Tteuranchae Bapsang set together with boribulbi at Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Wondang Station Branch. Being able to taste a variety of side dishes at once, plus cheonggukjang and stone-pot rice, made for a filling meal overall. In particular, the 12 neatly arranged side dishes were great for sampling a bit of everything. It's close to Wondang Station, so it's easy to reach by public transit, and there's plenty of parking for visiting by car too. If you're looking for hanjeongsik or a hearty meal in Wondang, this place is worth considering.
