Hi, this is Mammamine. My hair got really damaged after a perm, and I'd been getting by just trimming the damaged ends bit by bit. It's open daily from 10:00-20:00, and offers scalp clinics, hair spa, late-night hours, a waiting area, and is pet-friendly.

It's easy to reach by public transit, which I liked, and there's also building parking available if you're driving.

Even as a first-time visitor, the atmosphere wasn't intimidating at all, which I liked.

Hair Onsae also has a private space where you can get treatments done. Since I like getting my hair done quietly, this was a nice bonus.

Why trimming alone couldn't fix post-perm damage

Honestly, I didn't realize my hair had gotten this damaged. After perming, I noticed the damaged bits and would just trim them off little by little whenever I saw them. But as time went on, the dry, brittle feeling never really left. Especially after washing and drying, the ends would look frizzy and unruly.

The clinic started off with a thorough shampoo. Once my hair was clean, the real care began. Throughout the process, designer Kio kept checking on my hair's condition and worked carefully at each step.

Honestly, I'd always assumed a salon clinic meant just applying product, heat treatment, and done. But this time I could really feel the careful attention at every stage. It genuinely felt like my hair was being properly looked after haha.

How the hair changed at each stage of the clinic

As the clinic went on, I could feel my frizzy hair gradually calming down. Touching it with my hands, the texture was clearly different from when I first arrived. Because of the perm damage, my hair usually snagged a bit when I combed it. But after the clinic, it felt noticeably softer.

And since designer Kio kept checking my hair's condition along the way, I could relax and just leave it to her.

What really surprised me was checking my hair after it was all done. I'd kept trimming the damaged ends all this time, but the overall dry, frizzy feeling never went away. After the clinic though, my hair had a shine to it and felt calm and neat overall.

I'd actually gotten a hair clinic in Gangnam before, paying over ₩200,000 for it, and personally, I found this clinic at Hair Onsae far more satisfying. Of course, results can vary depending on hair condition and the specific method used.

But I really felt that the clinic I got from designer Kio was thoroughly and carefully done. If you're dealing with damaged hair from a perm like I was, I'd say it's worth trying a proper hair clinic at least once.

How to care for treated hair at home

Of course, getting a clinic doesn't mean you can just neglect your hair afterward, haha. She told me it's good to keep using hair packs or treatments at home to maintain the results. I'm planning to pay a bit more attention to my hair from now on too.

Until now, I'd just cut off damaged ends whenever I saw them, then cut again when they got damaged again. But after this clinic, I really realized how important it is to take care of the hair itself, not just trim around the damage.
